I think you’re right, and as I said in my earlier post, there must be so much across all of the previous forum threads.
It’d be a long and slow process to trawl through all of those threads and pick out the ideas and concerns (and yes, I do think both need to be included) from the rest of the noise.
As it happens, @Jack_Carrigan recently posted a thread in the CSM/Assembly Hall forum, proposing avatar gameplay. He finished his post with:

For those who are concerned over the “innevitable failure of EVE Online” (coming soon since 2003), how faster could that happen when other games take the initiative and push the boundaries CCP once did, with ambulation/Incarna? How many EVE players will move on to a game where the doors actually open? (I’ve seen the game footage - it’s actually possible!)
