rens or jita would work best for me, Thank you!
If that’s supposed to be some kind of insult you really need to up your game and realise that I don’t care either way.
Our network partners are not going to investigate ice belt spawns. Our DBAs are not going to investigate ice belt spawns. Their work is also not going to be put on hold because some other team is investigating ice belt spawns. One mining fix is being deployed tomorrow and I know that team has in general been actively investigating spawn reports.
You see if this information had been put out there somewhere visible you would probably be getting a lot fewer annoying and impolite messages.
Communication.
The deployment request was sent by the team at 15:31 this afternoon (today) – how should I have posted that yesterday?
Perhaps by:
- acknowledging there was a problem; and
- stating that the problem was being addressed?
(No need to give promises that might be hostage to fortune as to when a fix would be deployed until you had sufficient confidence.)
So what is the fix that is being deployed tomorrow?
What will it fix?
Will it fix ice?
Will it fix gas?
Will it fix low sec ore, which has been bugged for months?
I am sorry, but no one was suggesting that your “network partners” were going to investigate ice spawns. We were suggesting that you, CCP, might actually invest effort in fixing things that are broken, rather than expecting us to praise you for experimenting on other stuff, that may very well be for the long term benefit of the game, but does nothing for players here and now finding broken features. Especially when every new feature or patch seems to break at least three things which worked previously.
With all due respect, reacting in so irritated and touchy a manner to perfectly valid concerns does not engender either trust or sympathy.
10 years… IT’s been 10 years since I made a suggestion for your development team that would quite literally make EvE Online the #1 Premier Sci-Fi Space Sandbox MMO to at least 2035, time has been ticking away, and now you guys have NO EXCUSES to keep ignoring me since the Technology to “create” what I’ve described in the past can easily be done. This is all about a mass scale redevelopment & Integration plan that insures the resurgence and extended population growth of the community once more back up into the 6-digits per day, or more if done to the specs I have… Not kidding here… I’ve been in the gaming industry as a player, tester, even a creator since 1978. So yeah, not some young snot-nosed punk bragging. I spent many years [2009-2017] tracking things in Eve. And now, after a health hiatus, I’m back to ask once again… WHO do I get in touch with to pass along these plans? Do I need to fly to Iceland and personally get rolled into HQ?? Anyways, PM me if anyone still cares enough to want to insure a job for the next 2 decades. - Winterwillow Xandorluv
I don’t think you are allowed to get pissy if your dev team has delivered several buggy releases in a row where they fail to address an issue. It honestly seems like your team is incapable of doing any dev work beyond changing parameter values in a config database.
If I introduce a bug, customers will be angry with me. If it’s a serious bug, it can cause millions of dollars in damage or kill people. Your customers are expressing their frustration with your dev team.
My consulting fees are very reasonable if you need help.
if you are doing work involving millions of dollars or life, you have the resources to do the level of testing and QA that was the norm before the age of apple and google. Those days are over for commodity software.
The feeling was mutual.
