In the EULA/TOS (which everyone reads, or more importantly, understands right?) there is a bit that says CCP is within their right pull the plug on the whole shebang, if they so wished.
Doesn’t matter what the contract says.
If you want to keep customers, you don’t treat them like ■■■■.
Some gas Anoms don’t spawn properly I scanned down 2, and they are both empty, I had the same happen to an Ice belt Spawn. I thought you guys said you “fixed it”
Usually these message jump out at me randomly and unexpectedly. At least this time CCP told us to expect weird message, and it actually happened! So in a way they got something right this time… it is progress! … albeit in a two-steps-backwards or accidentally-put-the-car-in-reverse-and-smashed-into-the-wall-but-at-least-the-horn/hooter-still-works kinda way
You just HAD TO ASK
they get off on doing the infrastructure and application support that makes it run
Blog post the salty tears, please, oh great one. We needs the salt to season our fries.
Too many to chose from
I see that people have had fun in this thread.
I was not amused. The issue encountered today had nothing to do with today’s experiment. Instead we got hit for the 8th time in 11 months with a mysterious issue that Microsoft hasn’t been able to resolve so far. Hopefully the logs this time show them something new – at least the symptom and error was slightly different than before after the latest round of change recommended.
What we were able to do of the experiment did provide information.
Yes; we recently changed how markets are primed; have you noticed?
We prime 1000 solarsystems right after startup. Players who are eagerly waiting to log in, will be logging in as that priming is happening. Then the rest of the systems are primed when the first pilot jumps into them.
The contract system takes a while to prime after startup.
Official downtime each day is 15 minutes. We only advertise extensions if we expect to exceed that timeframe. On the topic of changes: https://twitter.com/CCP_Explorer/status/1503118118322909197.
I hope you enjoyed it.
I have not noticed but it’s good to know that you did it if it works. I might have noticed it if I had known that you did something like this. It’s a shame that CCP did not publicize potentially positive information like this.
I am sorry that you are irritated with the response of your customer base, and I genuinely sympathise that you were hobbled by a third party problem. I would, however, gently remind you that, whilst I am sure your experimentation may well bring future benefits, significant elements of your customer base are really rather irritated by the failure to address fundamental problems that are plaguing the game right now: ice belts not despawning - it was great fun travelling around numerous belts advertised in the Agency last night to find that they were in fact empty - low sec asteroid belts and anomalies permanently empty and, in the case of the anomalies, not despawning, etc, etc.
In such circumstances, talk about experimentation on the live server is akin to a mechanic pointing proudly at the go-faster stripe that he has painted down the side of the car, without doing anything about the wheel that has fallen off or the gasket that has blown.
The player base was also not amused that you decided to do a last minute experiment that could negatively effect people on tq without any notice and then come here and give this kind of response. You and CCP seriously have an issue when reading a room. Multiple things from the last patch are still bugged (how hard can it be to move a decimal point two places?), players are outraged over the recent monetization attempt and here you are being “not amused”. Read the room, apologize and fix the game.
I’ve been a support professional for over 30 years. @CCP_Explorer your attitude towards your customers stinks, if you worked for me you’d be fired.
you should quit and give me your stuff
ok boomer
You should get a life - thank you for your pointless contribution, but your bridge needs you back urgently.
