I have a crazy request. Maybe it’s beyond nuts. Well I’m going to put it forward anyway.
I need historical data on all alliances throught out eve’s history. I sort of need data on what type of ruleship they had according to the raster in Aristotels’ politics, what there social glue was in three categories, and something additonal concerning how they handled eight topics.
About me: this is a newer two year old character. I played eve on and off since short after it’s been released in europe.
Well over the years I noticed there seems to be a bit of an autopoesy concernign null-sec going that from anarchy form states. Which is a hint that even in a total social collapse there is no end, unlike the holywood version of an sociocalypse.
In so far as Aristotel put it governments drift between specific forms and anarchy is one of those forms.
Governmental forms
Now Aristotle distinguishes between correct (good) forms of rule – oriented toward the common good – and deviant (corrupt) forms – oriented toward the self-interest of rulers.
1. Monarchy (rule of one – good)
-
Essence: One ruler governs for the benefit of all.
-
Image: The king as protector and steward.
-
Danger: If he rules only for himself, monarchy degenerates into tyranny.
2. Tyranny (rule of one – corrupt)
-
Essence: One ruler governs solely for his own advantage.
-
Traits: Arbitrary power, oppression, fear as tool of control.
-
Example (in Aristotle’s time): Greek despots.
3. Aristocracy (rule of the few – good)
-
Essence: A small elite of the virtuous (aristoi = the best) governs for the common good.
-
Traits: Guided by virtue, education, justice.
-
Danger: If elites pursue only their own benefit, aristocracy slips into oligarchy.
4. Oligarchy (rule of the few – corrupt)
-
Essence: A small group rules for their own interest (often the wealthy).
-
Traits: Concentration of wealth and power, exploitation of the majority.
-
Danger: Popular resentment and revolt.
5. Polity (mixed constitution / republican form) (rule of the many – good)
-
Essence: The majority rules, but with laws and balance that serve the common good.
-
Traits: A mix of democracy and oligarchy, stable middle-class governance.
-
Aristotle’s note: Polity is the best practicable form of government.
6. Democracy (rule of the many – corrupt, in Aristotle’s sense)
-
Essence: The majority governs for its own benefit, not for all.
-
Traits: Populism, demagoguery, neglect of minorities.
-
Important: Aristotle’s “democracy” is closer to “mob rule” than to the modern ideal of representative democracy.
In short (pairs):
-
One: Monarchy (good) ↔ Tyranny (corrupt)
-
Few: Aristocracy (good) ↔ Oligarchy (corrupt)
-
Many: Polity (good) ↔ Democracy (corrupt)
The social glue
In one book I have “The teaching of Buddha“ there is a synthesis of various social organisations. It’s a synthesis of various suttas, it goes like this:
Of organisations there are three kinds. First, there are those that are organized on the basis of the power, wealth and authority of great leaders.
Second, there are those that are organized because of its convenience to the members, which will continue to exist as long as the members stisfy theirmconvenience and do not quarrel.
Third, there are those that are organized with some good teaching as its center and harmony as its very life
[The teaching of Buddha, pg 226]
With the six governmental forms and three society organizing principles this gives 18 state forms.
Eight arguments
Well in 2012 I underwent a job training as nurse for the elderly and because of stress I fell into a burn out with hallucinations, in which I heared voices, and sort of hallucinated seeing one kind of spiritual being that is named in a few religions.
I got dictated eight statements which I wrote down, in so far had a Swedenborg or Hildergart von Bingen moment in my life. Just that I don’t assume it was realy that spiritual and more just all my doign of my brain. I used chatgpt in apreliminary analysis of those eight statements and it drops a lot of names of philosophers or theoreticians I only heared from or never heared of.
Well the eight statement are following:
- In suppliance and assistance, of tools as much as means, any given quantitative measurable interconnection of functions, may achieve a balance ensuring longevity.
Therefore the pros and cons of all and even the least providence, of any and not only internal information, has to be considered relative to the ability of any entity, to integrate such an object.
As far as I could clear that with chatgpt this is about giving and receiving tools or goods.
It seems to be related to elements of the philosophy of Norbert Wiener, Gregory Bateson, Niklas Luhmann, Heins von Foerster and Donella Meadows.
- As any society being a web and weave of various entities, within an intrinsic system of more or less openly formulated contractual agreements..
The necessity of fulfillment of a contract relies less on a taxonomy of the requested and required objects, then on a complete and durable formulation, providing a minimum of a half a day to ensure trustability.
As far as I could clear that with chatgpt it’s somewhat along the line of Rosseus social contract additional elements of the philosophy of Jürgen Habermass, Marcel Mauss, Michael Serres and Niclas Luhmann.
- As the substance of any given sociological object, being an interconnected net of variable entities, is based on a given fundament.
Such the exact definition of the layout, as well as extension, of all governable and manageable defined territories, is the basic fundamental norm, applicable between and among sociological variables.
As far as I was able to take it apart with chatgpt this is about government structure and along Niklas Luhmann’s system theory, elements of the philosophy of Pierre Bourdieu, Michael Focault and Bruno Latour.
- As below so above, the order within a structured system of dominance distributions, is so much similar to that of the regulations within each socio normal functioning body.
In so much as the simple person neither necessary male nor demandable female, depends on various means of protection against unrequested intrusive modifications, thus an empire depends on the clear and constant guarding through various means of limitation.
As far as chatgtn tells me this implies on the one hand Thomas Hobbes Leviathan and also Platon’s state and also elements of the philosophy of Michael Focault, Carl Schmitt and Gregory Bateson.
- Alliance - as every human depends on the wellbeing of an environment, every environment depends on the welldoing of every one human.
This according to chatgpt seems to be a ecological-ethical resonance principe.
Somewhat along the lines of Hans Joans, Gregory Bateson, Niklas Luhmann, Albert Schweitze and the teaching of Pratītyasamutpāda iin Buddhism.
- Culture - as humans live in their own story, thus the tap into the fundament of a society, by enacting actions which are connected to a narrative.
This sort of seems to be a narrative Actiontheory of culture.
Seems to be related to elements of philosophies of Paul Ricœur, Clifford Geertz, Hannah Arendt, Alasdair MacIntyre and Charles Taylor.
- Gnosis - all things are in flux, yet through insight into the intrinsic and extrinsic relations of a thing, a moment of eternity can be grasped.
Seems to formulate a gnostical-phenomenological theory of cognition.
Chatgpt say this is sort of related to elements of philosophies of Heraklit, Plotin, Valentinian Gnosticism/Hermeticism, Martin Heidegger, Henri Bergson and Spinoza.
- Tradition - things change, the shoes of the past can carry us no more, yet the shoes of the future depend on humanity keeping memories of the former,to be capable of finding the latter suiting humanity best
This seems to be a anit-traditionalistic, yet not ahistorical understanding of tradition.
According to chatgpt this is along elements of philosophies of Hannah Arendt, Waler Benjamin, Hans-Georg Gadamer, Jürgen Habermas, Aleksandr Zinowjew/Arnold Gehlen, Benedict Anderson,
Keep in mind even though I used chatgpt 5 it may err.
Next step|How you can help:
What I so far did I entered all of the above in chatgpt and put it together in a catalogue and ran some monte-carlo simulations of how goverments may shift from one form to another form.
Among the simulated pathes one was:
Democracy x Leadership => Tyrannis x Convenience => Oligarchy x Leadership =>
Tyrranis x Convenience => Anarchy x Leadership => Oligarchy x Leadership =>
Anarchy x Leadership => oscilating between the latter two
Now here eve’s history could be usefull, as with alliances it provides a big data pool on social bodies with governments, and a compapred to real world simplified one and sort of more or less well documented.
Having such a data pool I might be able to find evidence that above system of 18 stateforms or 144 points might be usefull for some analytical purpose and predictive purpose.
Thanks in advance
