Aguard Impeached. Intaki Reacts

Assembly Required Banner

Good evening Intaki! And welcome to an emergency report in response to breaking news from the Federation Senate.

It finally happened!

The Federation Senate has impeached former President Aguard, and removed her from office with immediate effect.

Earlier today, The Scope reported that Senate Speaker Andon Gardeau will act as head of an interim government until new elections can be held. Let’s all hope the coming days and weeks are mostly uneventful and things run smoothly ahead of a long awaited transition of power.

No doubt the next President will have an unenviable task ahead of them, and it is going to take some time to undo the worst of Aguard’s damaging policies, with the AID act the clear focus right now.

I’m outside the Intaki Assembly in Navyii Akat, hoping to get early reactions to the news, and was able to catch Suresha Bataav of the Intaki Liberation Front a few moments ago as he entered the building.

He stopped to make a very brief statement:

I, and the Intaki Liberation Front, will be petitioning Governor Ivestara and the Intaki Assembly, to ensure the Federations serious transgressions in Intaki are of the highest importance for the next administration.

The Federation Navy’s ongoing presence is unacceptable and continues to contravene the terms of Intaki’s signing of the Federal Charter, and they must redeploy their forces, and the associated ship caster elsewhere as soon as possible.

Additionally, the franchise system must be immediately reinstated with regards to system security, so that the Intaki Assembly can appoint an appropriate and effective franchisee of their choosing.

The ILF will continue to offer our support to the Assembly, and to the people of Intaki.

So there we have it. President Aguard is gone. Will the next President be better for Intaki? Only time will tell.

I’ve been Orlilot en Marland, and this is Assembly Required!

Aguard is just a scammer.

Okay…

It’s about damn time. That Aguard was able to (unconstitutionally) cling onto power this long despite vocal opposition from just about everyone has forever tarnished the credibility of our democracy.

I hope whoever wins the coming elections will be able to steer our ship right. A good start for the interim government will be to repeal the AID act and set about supporting the workers it disenfranchised, but the successor government has an even heavier task ahead of itself; rapprochement with the intaki which will (I hope) lead to a thaw with the Caldari. Many (on both sides) will never forgive the horrors committed during the Gallente-Caldari war and the Empyrean war, nor should we ever forget those lost in the conflicts, but we all need to put the hatred behind us and realise that we share this cluster.

They should inject Aguard with thermal nanites and set her on FIRE!

:fire:

Or we let New Eden’s most robust judiciary deal with her. I know Amarrians like to joke that when a Gallente politician fails, we promote them to senator, and there is truth in that, but a presidential impeachment is different. Aguard’s career is over, she won’t be doing any more damage. What sense is there in petty vindictiveness?

Perhaps now that that lunatic has been removed from office, she can finally see justice for her international war crimes.

The illegal invasion and occupation of Intaki and the wider Viriette district, in flagrant violation of international law, needs to be addressed as soon as possible. I would hope the Federation co-operates fully in order to demonstrate it can be considered a lawful and legitimate CONCORD signatory once again.

CONCORD is the problem! This corruption proves that the so-called Federation has no legitimacy, and should be dissolved immediately.
