MS: Joint Statement from Gallente Militia Commanders
MSG BEGINS>>>
Militia commanders gathered in Ostingele IV - Federal Defense Union Testing Facilities on the morning of 128.02.03 following the unexpected and speedy impeachment of former President Aguard on 128.01.29
Following a lengthy discussion on the investigations, impeachment, and declarations of the interim government, commanders from the organizations of Clockwork Angels, Aideron Robotics, Ribbit., and Federation Peacekeepers release the following statement.
"We have come to the end of our meeting heartened that the processes of our Democratic system are fulfilling their duty to the citizenship when presented with illegal, unlawful, and unconstitutional actions.
The Gallente Militia supports the swift and complete restoration of the democratic process, and pledges their full support to the interim government as long as they follow through on the promise of restoring fair and free elections.
Any questions about our discussions of impeachment, operations we’ll be conducting to secure federal elections, or any other concerns within the Gallente Militia can forwarded to our press departments and answered within standard operational security."
Ribbit. Supports the militia effort in securing a peaceful change, but notes isk and assets have been directed towards Strategic locations around the Federation
As a citizen of the Federation, it’s great to see a unified front from the militias who defend our borders through such uncertain times. I sincerely hope that the upcoming elections will be free and fair, and usher in an era of cooperation between our branches of government, enlisted militia members, and the various contractors, traders, vigilantes, industrialists, and mercenaries who call Gallente their home. Everyone has a part to play in keeping the Federation strong, and I look forward to doing my part.
On behalf of Aideron Robotics, we are pleased to see the Senate taking actions on behalf of the people and answering the call to ensure fair and democratic elections. We will continue to support the efforts of the Federation alongside our allies in the Gallente Militia and Federal Defense Union to promote democracy, and we look forward to the upcoming elections.
We do apologize for the delayed response as recent research and development breakthroughs have interrupted our regular flow of operations.
It’s good to see the Federation attempting to clean its own house. For the sake of those living within and all those who have dealings with the Federation, a move toward stability is a move in the right direction.
The Federation Peacekeepers wholeheartedly and unequivocally supports the decision undertaken by the Senate to impeach President Celes Aguard in respect of their failure to ensure the continuation of the democratic process in a timely manner.
It is the position of the Federation Peacekeepers that holding our political leaders to account for their failures in maintaining the high standards that we expect of them in public office is just as imperative to the survival of our democracy as is our actions to defend it against malicious entities who would seek to subjugate our way of life beneath a tyrannical heel.
We expect that the Senate will organise and announce the next Federal Elections for the Presidency and Senate seats without further undue delay. We would also reiterate our sacred pledge to serve and protect the Federation, it’s Constitution and Charter, and the people that reside within our promised land.
Speaking personally, I cannot help but express my disappointment in that a promising start to the Presidency of an otherwise distinguished candidate with a sterling record of public service in as Governor of Mies has ended in such disgrace. Although I supported the delay of the elections in the short-term due to the immediate threat of the Drifter Crisis in early YC127/FC242, the subsequent delay without explanation was in no way justifiable to myself nor any other citizen of the Federation.
Nonetheless, I have renewed faith in the Federation to take swift, bloodless action against those who would subvert the mandate given to them by the people. I hope that the example made here serves as a reminder to all that seek the reigns of this illustrious office that they are ultimately first and foremost a servant of the people, the first defender and champion of the Federation and its ideals, and that none are above the law or its consequences.
Thank you for the recognition of this being an internal Federation matter. Also be aware that any external interference in the affairs of the Federation and our allies will result in a rapid and unyielding response in whatever form is deemed necessary at the time.
Depending on the results of the upcoming elections I and the UNF may be willing to re-invest more directly in underserved districts of the Gallente Federation again, though its unlikely it will ever be to the same degree as we did in years past.
My eyes have come across this statement from the leadership of the Federal Defence Union.
Some of you, I have fought alongside, before the Aguard administration destroyed the historic friendship between our peoples.
Others are new faces to me.
Irrespective of who is familiar to me, and who is unfamiliar to me, I would like to express my personal congratulations towards your polity, for impeaching an administration which deviated the Federation from it’s tradition of upholding the values which it was founded upon.
Whilst I am not a part of your electorate, and whilst I am someone looking in from the outside, that Tenzin fellow sounds like a good option, as he seems to be the only one who has served, and consequently the only one who will understand what life is like for those who make the safety of their people their personal responsibility.
