I’ve seen a few corps mention they do merc contracts, but looking at their killboards, they do not appear to be very active.
Are there any active merc corps recruiting? My current corp has changed a lot lately and I am no longer enjoying it so I’m looking for a new home.

The way highsec wars work now and this extra tax on pocos etc i imagine highsec isnt really either as lucrative or as entertaining for stuff as it once was; and i dont think anyone really gets that much merc work anymore, with capital proliferation and tones of people having high sp… as well as marauders being pretty op i think you will have a hard time finding a proper merc corp these days.
Blackflag is the group you are looking for
They are so risk adverse though. I don’t know which is worse when it comes to running from anything close to an even match, Blackflag or SRS.
Guess I was hoping for a group that doesn’t hide behind HS wardecs. Maybe I’m pickier than I thought.
Noir. are probably what you’re looking for. Not my corp but quality group. If you’re interested in a smaller corp with more building to do, Outer Path is run by a guy who’s obsessed with the mercenary game.

Clearly don’t know much about the SRS 
Don’t worry about being picky. I still haven’t found a home after a few months. I did make some compromises and joined a few “pvp” groups, but they’d just mine/rat or were F1 monkeys.
I’ve found some good friends to fill the void, but finding an active group that doesn’t suck or give a bunch of empty promises is very difficult. Most of the corps worth anything are invite/vouch only.
If you just want pvp, I would look more into npsi groups. Overclocker is a good one for smaller scale mano-gang content. The Morgue does pochven stuff. If you’re consistent with them, you’ll eventually find friends to fly with every day like I did, regardless of corp.
