[ARC] Large and Heavily Damaged Drifter Fleet Encountered in Hive Complex

Retrieval operation complete. A second vault was recovered.

Decoding has resulted in recovery of additional reconnaissance footage.

Compositing is underway, naturally, but evidence is that all of this footage is a gestalt view of a single brief engagement between Drifters and unknown other vessels.

The large stationary object in the first round, and now this second vessel at the end of this clip - just what are these things? Are they the cause of these damaged fleets?

At this point, I think itā€™s fair to say that the heavily corrupted footage linked from the CDIA may in fact not even be CONCORD footage, but prior CONCORD recovery of Drifter footage.

Gutter Press agents investigated rumours of a Drifter fleet in Republic space, and travelled to the reported site.

A large group of Drifter battleships was observed, with the Drifters using their scanners on all objects near the stargate they were clustered around, including our correspondentā€™s ship.

After around 1 hour of observation, with no observed aggressive actions by the Drifter ships, ARC agents arrived on site and engaged the Drifter vessels in combat, using Coercer class destroyers.

ARC agents had previously communicated to Gutter Press that they had obtained authorisation to engage Drifter forces from ā€œall the (authorities) that matterā€.

ARC agents also communicated that no viable specimens of Jovian meme worms had been recovered from Drifter vessels, but that they would continue to search.

The ARC vessels attacked in several waves of ships, receiving strong counter-fire from the Drifter forces once engaged.

ARC elements locked weapons on to our correspondent, with one ARC associate using racialist language to order our correspondent to ā€œback offā€, and that ā€œthese are our spoilsā€.

Odd behaviour was observed from one Drifter vessel, which stopped all propulsion and weapons fire, until it was later destroyed by non-ARC elements.

You keep saying ā€œARC Agentsā€, and Iā€™m not entirely sure you know what ARC is. You were never directly addressed in local by anyone representing ARC.

Evi Polevhia, Uriel Paradisi Anteovneucci, and Avio Yaken, are known ARC associates.

ARC members, including yourself, and Makoto Priano, locked weapons on my ship.

Associate and agent are very different terms.

Uriel replied to Avio, not to you.

I donā€™t really feel like debating if they actually are, though Avio is a tad hot headed(No offense, Avio) so leaning toward not on him.

Hey donā€™t take this moment away from me, Aradina. Iā€™m an ARC Agent. I need to be compensated for my work.

Iā€™m an ARC employee and I donā€™t even get paid.

So, we recover trinary data vaults from a 50-strong Drifter fleet, decrypt it, release the video showing unknown ships with what appear to be tiny singularities strapped to them, andā€“

The important news is that someone said mean words, and pilots locked a neutral who may have attempted to abscond with salvage.

Winds.

Capsuleers.

In any case, as ever, ARC coordinators have more important things to do than policing the public chatter of pilots in what is essentially a militia fleet.

Gutter Press frowns on baseless accusations of this nature against our journalists.

Given the quick and organized response of ARC forces, they should be commended for their efforts, both in ridding areas of these massive clusters of exceptionally dangerous ships, and in taking steps to uncover what may be an even larger threat to New Edenā€™s, and by extension, the capsuleer communityā€™s, security.

Any force that can rival/cause concern to the Drifters, should be a concern to us as well, as any real threat to the Drifters is a credible threat to us.

I can only apologize for being unable to be on site to assist in these operationsā€¦something i hope will change in the near future. That is assuming ARC will allow me to assist either as a line member or as an outside contractor.

Iā€™d be interested to know what the repeating message was at the end of the trinary script. In human terms such repeatedvmessages tend to be an SOS of some kind. Or a warning.

It isnā€™t an SOS, we can say that. If it is, it isnā€™t obvious how it is which defeats the purpose of an SOS.

Would you be able to share the contents of the message? If not publicly then privately, Iā€™m happy to sign the appropriate NDA if that helps.

Good evening, Mr. Farsaidh.

The contents have been released in the following archival.

To save me and my folks some bother, a publishing of the cipher key would be helpful. It was entertaining to stare at triangles for a day, but the UPPERCASE triangles have nearly driven me over the edge.

Kind regards,

Soter

My apologies, I meant the translation of the final repeating message. The nature of the repitition piqued my interest, gave it a sense of urgency.

No clear sign of why it was repeated. I have ideas though. But the translation of the final message rows led to two new video fragments which ARC has posted along with the other three in the video that Makoto linked for you.

Essentially, the trinary code are simply arbitrary file name locations which can be used to access the corrupted video streams in the datavaults. Theyā€™re growing in complexity quite significantly, however.
