Are characters sold honestly?

People in Eve live to scam people. PvP is PvP whether you’re blowing up someone’s ship or cleaning out someone’s entire Corporate Assets. It’s all the same.

So how are characters sold? Surely that’s not the one and only time players are actually honest in this game is it? Transfer over 100B ISK and get a beautifully skilled up character just like that? You can’t write a contract for a username and password.

It’s legit if transferred through CCP. If you “buy” a character from someone in-game for 100B ISK and you get scammed, then you deserve it.

Ah so the boss guys mediate. Thanks!

I mean, what are you going to do if you get scammed? Report it to CCP? You would be admitting to illegitimately purchasing an account, at which point yours would get flagged and banned.

Though I’m sure some players try it in an attempt to avoid the transaction fee that CCP charges for account transfers.

Maybe read the sticky in this section about the rules and how it is done?

Please review: Welcome to the Character Bazaar

Additionally the following is written:

However, scams that affect areas outside of the game may not be tolerated in the same manner, such as, but not limited to:

  • Scams involving Character Transfers, mainly via the Character Bazaar where scamming is explicitly forbidden

I have a character on another account, that I want to honestly trade (I have more than one Eve account).
It just depends what you are after.

Note public character trades are not supported. Only the process outlined in Welcome to the Character Bazaar is.
