When did the character bazaar become such a hub for scamming? I thought it was a protected forum (which it is with reimbursement) but I’ve been scammed twice now in the last week trying to buy a character from the forum. What the fucks the point if the scammer gets the isk taken away anyways? Is there not a serious enough punishment for doing so?
“Crime & Punishment” is the subforum about the criminal side of EVE. The role playing criminal side of being a pirate, conflicts with CONCORD, stealing ore from miners and the likes.
Character bazaar scams aren’t ‘roleplay’ criminal things, those are real issues. Contact CCP, make a support ticket and tell them to look into it.
Character Bazaar is 100% legit, I had purchased a few pilots from there for various projects and frequently return weekly to see if something is available that suits my needs.
Yeah they’re currently sorting it. Just takes them a few days. I’m confident I’ll get the isk back. It’s just frustrating that it even happens. And I’ll I’m asking is why people are taking the time to scam the protected forums. Are they getting away with it somehow? Is punishment not severe enough?
They may unaware of the character bazaar rules, or they may be aware and still try to risk their account for a scam.
After all, not everyone in games plays by the rules. The numbers of cheaters botting or third party trading isn’t high but isn’t zero either. Cheaters exist in every game regardless of the rules and it appears you found one.
Any speculation about “are they getting away with it somehow” is better left for after CCP has dealt with your report.
It is a helpful reminder that not all characters can be transferred on the same day or the 10 hrs. If russians are trying to sell characters it can be a few days as they have to go to support to sell a character
