Battleships and Capital ships

Why squish capital EHP when you could just make ANTI-CAP guns for battleships :smirk:

Zero tracking, close range to stop them being abused for ratting or sniping. Bone shattering damage against anything big enough to hit.

Basically I want oversized turrets for my Megathron.

So, basically Large-sized Anti-HAW? I like that a lot better than the idea of dedicated battleship platform with XL weapons that keeps popping up.

I wouldn’t rely on short range or low tracking though, I’d go the route that CCP went with capital neuts: add a sig radius modifier that greatly reduces the damage to anything with a sig radius smaller than a capital ship. That gives you a lot more room to play around with tracking and range while still keeping them firmly in the realm of “anti-capital-only” weapon.

Yeah, why make a whole new ship when a new approach to a module will do it.

The sig idea is a good one too. Forgot they did that with capital neuts :+1:

This would essentially make dreadnought structure bashing irrelevant then

Could a BS fleet fitted with these guns be used in place of an equivalent dread fleet for structure bashing? Sure, except that they’d have a fraction of the EHP and active tank potential, so they’d be doing so from a much more vulnerable position.

They need to have enough tracking so you can speed tank, zero makes me think of something like bombs.
