Finding My Way Back: Returning to EVE with Black Aces & The Imperium.

Hello wanderers,

After being away from EVE for a long while, I finally decided to make my return about two months ago and like many times before, that first login felt a little overwhelming. The universe moves fast, mechanics evolve… but what hasn’t changed is how incredible it feels when you find the right group of people to fly with. I’m a Vagabond, wildly assorted corp history that follows me as I’ve fly through the universe of EvE.

The first 10 years of EvE i hated CFC / Imperium, over time and jumping corp to corp, alliance to alliance I realized this nomadic behavior was due more to not truly finding the right place for me. This time around i did some soul searching and looked for a corporation that has some history. I joined Black Aces, a legacy corporation that’s been part of EVE since 2003 and has flown with The Imperium for quite some time. This group is raw, upfront, mature, and deliberate. I never realized just how tight-knit and genuine the group really is until I got in comms and started flying with them.

I’ll be honest: I love the Imperium infrastructure, the whole thing can be overwhelming your first go at it however, the alliance feels like it is ran like a fortune 500 company. This corporation is no different, well put together, clear goals, active teams working towards collective and personal objectives.

The requirements can seem a little steep — 50 million SP, multiple characters, active on Teamspeak — and I wasn’t sure if my checkered past was going to be an issue or not. But I reached out anyway, figuring the worst that could happen was a ā€œthanks but no thanks.ā€

Instead, I got a warm welcome, some laughs, and a fleet invite that same night.

Now, after a few months back in, I can confidently say that joining Black Aces was the best decision I’ve made in EVE in a long time. The corp’s based out of Insmother, which has been a blast — plenty of PvP content right next door, incredible ISK-making potential, and a solid industrial backbone supported by The Imperium’s infrastructure. It’s a perfect mix of danger and opportunity.

These guys and gals have history — real EVE history — and they still treat every pilot with respect. Whether you’re jumping into a small gang roam, helping with alliance objectives, or just hanging in comms talking nonsense while mining, it feels like a home worth logging in for.

If you’ve been thinking about getting back into the game, or you’ve been floating solo wondering where to go next — don’t let the numbers on the recruitment post scare you off. If you’ve got the right attitude and a bit of that EVE grit, Black Aces will help you get where you need to be.

If you’ve ever wanted to fly with a corp that’s stood the test of time, this is it. Don’t wait until you ā€œhave enough SPā€ or ā€œget everything set up.ā€ Just reach out, hop in voice, and see what we’re about.

Because sometimes, the best way back into EVE… is through the people who’ve never stopped flying.

Just my take and as stated by others,

Fly Black. Die Hard. o7
