Edit: reply makes sense not a good idea for the game it was meant to be used for sneaking in to others spaces with a big covert fleet to attack structures, and escape.
I enjoy black ops fleets too, but I am not sure black ops fleets are in need of this.
Blops fleets are usually strong and capable, too capable from time to time, able to take down any target they catch. Killing often isn’t the issue, catching something is.
For additional dreadnought firepower this isn’t needed. Black ops ship are some of the few ships with the capability to light a regular cyno and let regular capital ships jump in on tougher targets. And the covert recons that your blops fleets bring along for ewar or to hunt for the fleet also can light these regular cynos. So if you wish to have dreadnought power with your blops fleets to kill supercarriers in time: that is already possible.
So what is it that this new ship class is intended to bring to blops gameplay?
Is there something new, something unique? A new kind of opportunity that is currently missing? A balanced way to escalate fights into even bigger fights?
Let’s see what you ask for:
- bridge capacity of ‘100 subcaps’ → what does this mean? Bridges generally only have activation and mass-based fuel costs, not numeric limits. Are you thinking of a conduit jump?
- comand burst that makes the covert ops fleet cloak and immune to dscan
– isn’t a covert ops fleet already capable of cloaking? And invisible to dscan when cloaked? - covert suite: a dread with the cloak of a blops and the MJD of a carrier. Maybe we should also give it the doomsday of a titan and remote repairs of a fax?
- Emergency system: because this ship and it’s fleet should be invulnerable to dying when things go wrong
- Bays: a huge 100k m3 fleet hangar seems necessary for a cloaky capital hauler with emergency button like this ship. Also add the gigantic 2 million m3 SMB that Carriers recently gained, because besides cloaking everything, killing everything and emergency evacuating everything somehow carrying everything also fits this ship’s role
To summarize you’ve taken the best parts that make a lot of other big ships unique and strong, and combined it all in one ship. Massive hauling capabilities, massive mobility bonuses, the strongest non-covert cloaks, massive damage bonuses and defense bonuses from siege, a more mobile siege module because a dreadnoughts siege is of course too limiting, and if all that isn’t enough it also has an emergency button to save the ship out of any situation together with it’s fleet.
If I make assumptions about how this ship is intended to improve the game, it seems to be intended to give your particular playstyle an invisible invincible overpowered wtfpwnmachine.
Sorry, I cannot see this as a serious suggestion.
