You said you chose the analogy specifically, but once the liver gets cirrhosis, it’s a dead end.
thanks to this paying clients that I can play solo for free.
Not the first analogy that backfires. Maybe that could teach some that you shouldn’t try to use stupid analogies to make a point. I don’t even get it why the analogy is here in the first place, as all the points are explained afterwards in great details anyhow - it just bloats the text and now backfires.
In fact this thread setup disturbed me to the point that i decided not to take part in the discussion on the topic at all.
The analogy still works. CCP can’t remove multiboxing now without severely damaging their business model. EVE is kept afloat by multiboxing, just as multiboxing is the albatross around its neck.
Multiboxing is literally built into eve. Have you heard of the CCP Bible?
Let me show you what I mean.

Can’t have that now can we <3
It is no joke that the most important and powerful ship in Eve-Online, is a Friendship, and it’s the one most likely to keep someone, new or old, paying and playing.
Sadly it is this very part of Eve-Online that is slowly developing an insidious cirrhosis, fed largely by CCP’s addiction to alcohol. (read income)
I have noticed more and more over the last 15 ish years the great surge in concurrent omega accounts; allowing people to have more and more alts online at once.
Well…maybe it just proves that the only friend I can 100% trust is…me.
Disturbingly, many of these fundamentals are being rejected by Eve-Players in favor of the do-it-all-yourself with alts option.
It doesn’t surprise me. Discord is a pain in the posterior to set up, and not everyone wants to be talking into their mic at some ungodly hour when the rest of the house is asleep or doing other stuff. And many corps want not just Discord but a batch of other apps too…so they can spy on what you are up to, where you are, who you’ve had emails with, etc, etc. It all just gets absurd…when all one wants to do is log in and shoot stuff. So it doesn’t surprise me that more people go solo, or as in the case of my little corp…just a loose connection of people who are solo much of the time but work together at other times.
Hell, my broke ass needs to work for CCP. Granted, I don’t multibox anymore. All my extra accounts I just use to collect the extra login rewards/freebies.
I trust noone, myself least of all. 99.99999% of all trouble I’ve had in life was brought about…by me.
You say you were a corrections officer for 20+ years yet it perplexes you why I take offense to my integrity being called into question over the most basic information such as what job I had.
You should understand how often that tactic is used by inmates and sometimes sticks with real consequences to honest officers that simply do not have proof available for their defense. You should be aware exactly how inmates manipulate circumstances and narratives since you’re employing the same tactics here.
I have zero tolerance for that. If you’re being honest, you should too. You can say anything you want about my gameplay, but when you do the same about my real life you become an enemy.
Now I am calling your integrity into question and I am not implying anything to do it. It is a direct statement.

Well, its not just trust…its also the case that | don’t have to ask my alts if they want to do this or that, or try to garner group enthusiasm. My alts do exactly what I tell them to do. No arguments, no hearing some corp mate argue with their wife on Discord, no-one arguing for a flat earth in corp chat, and no-one spying on whether I’ve been secretly emailing some huge nullsec corp with the plans for the Death Star.
no-one arguing for a flat earth in corp chat
Does that really happen?
I’ve always assumed the flat earth people were just trolling.
And many corps want not just Discord but a batch of other apps too…so they can spy on what you are up to, where you are, who you’ve had emails with, etc, etc. It all just gets absurd…
Full-access API. I never understood why they needed that. It covers everything in your EVE gameplay, your EVE mails, contract/wallet history, all of it. Why does a corp in a video game need to read my private communications? It’s not like spies inflitrate them on clean alts – no, not at all! It still perplexes me that all their members are willing to hand over that kind of info to them for free. It’s so absurd.
Well, maybe not flat earth but I’ve seen just about every other conspiracy theory ranted about in corp chat.
You might be surprised how many do it on established characters and forget that they’ve been planning the demise of the potential new corp/alliance through mails.
The problem with some of the accesses and I might be misunderstanding some of the settings but it appears that you are also giving people in leadership positions access to send mails from your name.

For a while I was a spy myself. But its not as if any good corp was going to reveal the secrets of the Death Star to a noob alt. But on the other hand, its amazing how much gets blabbed in corp chat, and I fulfilled my mission of find out where the corp’s secret mining locations were…all without API. To this day they still don’t know I was a spy. I even fought in a battle with them against an ally of the corp that hired me to spy. That was fun. Havent done spying for several years…it was mostly boredom to be honest.

No, that is not the case. If you mean that as a consequence of full API access leadership will get some sort of a feature that enables them to send EVE mails that appear as if coming from you – not true. EVE mails are account-based, and only by logging into your character can one send out mails in that specific character’s name. Never give out your account information to anybody, that’s against EULA as well.
EDIT: of course, if one has access to all your EVE mails, they will have specific information available to them that will allow them to impersonate you through another character, by presenting information that is privy only to you and your correspondents. For example, it would be pretty easy to impersonate me. One just has to create a character named ‘Meridian Night’ (a lot of people don’t notice it that my character’s name is missing 1 ‘i’) and make a portrait that resembles me. Then, superficially it might fool some people to believe that it is actually me and not some stranger. If, additionally, that character knows information only I should know about, it would be even more convincing.

I havent been in a null corp for quite a while so I am probably misremembering. I could have sworn there was one of the options hidden in there that allows leadership to send mails from your name. I got into it on discord about that setting the last time I was in null and it did not make me any friends when I pointed it out.

Luckily that would violate the eula and get them banned
