Confessor Marks

Hi everyone,

Anyone knows what that mean the marks/Symbols on the Confessor ship?

Here’s what chatgpt said they likely were

Top circle (cross-like symbol) – That’s the Imperial Seal of the Amarr Empire, often described as an “imperfect union of Man and God.” It’s a religious emblem symbolizing divine authority and unity, typically found on Amarr and Ammatar vessels.

  1. Large middle-left marking (grid-like emblem) – This is part of the Ammatar Mandate insignia, derived from Amarr iconography but more mechanical or industrial-looking. It’s often used on ships aligned with the Mandate, which is a semi-autonomous offshoot of the Amarr Empire that blends Amarr faith and Minmatar heritage.

  2. Lower-left marking (honeycomb/hex pattern) – That’s a hull panel insignia that’s more decorative or industrial—it doesn’t represent a faction. CCP added these patterns to give ships more visual texture and detail, not necessarily lore significance.

  3. Right-side marking (starburst seal) – That one is the Amarr Navy or Ammatar Fleet crest, used to denote official fleet service. It often appears near the front of faction ships or navy variants.

So, in short:

  • Religious = Amarr Seal

  • Political = Ammatar Mandate

  • Structural = Honeycomb pattern (non-symbolic)

  • Military = Ammatar Fleet emblem

What a load of rubbish.  None of these areas have anything to do with religious or navy symbolism.

This is the Ammatar Fleet emblem. The Confessor was not developed in any way, shape or form by Ammatar Fleet, Ammatar or anything related to that Amarr subfaction. The Confessor was, like all T3D, developed by the main faction Navys, in this case the Imperial Navy. The relgious symbol of Amarr also has not at all anything to do with a cross. It’s God’s eye/face watching his beloved children from above (incidentally, the Khanid crest is the reverse of this: Man looking up to god). All religious symbolism on Amarr and Amarr related ships is only and exclusively found in the ornamental, curly and, most importantly, the shimmering golden parts of the ship.

The only reason why this lies spewing rubbish tech thinks it was developed by Ammatar or Ammatar symbolism has something to do with these markings is because the picture is from an Ammatar station.

All of these hull areas are just ship hull and structural elements for connectors for fuel, devices, sensors, additional weapon mount slot (placeholders).

Great showcase why ChatGPT is utterly unhelpful and only a distributor of lies, misinformation and confusing hallucinations any why it cannot be trusted for any kind of result it delivers.

For all we know the Amarr Empire could be lying about their piety and those are actually Satanic markings…

However, that Structural Honeycomb Pattern sure reminds me of CCP’s logo…
