That’s not necessarily the fault of pearl abyss. That would be influence from their publisher, Kakao games, who as far as we know now will have no involvement in Eve. BDO has a different publisher in different regions and they all have different levels of p2w.
I’m not saying you’re completely wrong though. I’m also pretty concerned over this. It’s unclear what level of p2w Pearl Abyss itself is responsible for. No idea what this is going to mean.

No matter how you look at it video gamers in the West tend to frown at the idea of paying to get an upper hand in games, many of their Asia counterparts find the practice perfectly acceptable.

If people really believe that a company that’s just spent $425m is not going to have a significant say in how CCP works and Eve is developed are mental. It might be all nice now but in a few months or year things will start changing. TBH Hilmar should be the first to go.
I hope it’s Pearls expertise that will be used in CCP to start really changing how Eve is developed and give it so many changes it needs.
I only believe that CCP have held back Eve purely because of their stubbornness to change their own mindsets
