Drone next target/targeting priority settings

You already made yourself known as just a post troll. So go troll somewhere else. And let the smart people discuss.

Yeah. Weirdly disagreeing is not trolling.

Look, Drones are a primary weapon system, there are ships in all subcap sizes that use them as such and have perfectly fine DPS.
Additionally allowing them as a secondary system on other ships to remain focused on frigates frees up the pilot to not even bother locking frigates, which as a battleship pilot is huge due to lock times, and instead just focus on larger ships.
Not to mention how one of the balances is how NPC frigates are likely to focus drones, so drones automatically killing them first is a huge game changer.

These are all reasons why more control for drones would be a huge huge buff and why it’s a bad idea, totally separate from the obvious botting issue.

Now that is a constructive critique. So allow me to address your concerns.

  1. Botting exists because of a repeatable tediousness of this game part. And locking frigates for drones as well as other time gates are just a way to make things worse. So let’s put that aside as allowing this kind of behavior would help more in that aspect.
  2. another aspect would be limiting drones by default to their size types. With auto targeting module or other penalties and possibilities.
  3. giving pilot time back to target guns and so on gives a great freedom of action and less annoyance. And not a usual rince repeat bot like behavior.
  4. perfectly fine dps, yes for pve and even then they loose to dedicated gunning ships.

At any rate I appreciate the constructiveness in a previous response. And I do belive we can come up with such system that would suit both worlds. Hence reducing repetivness of some things. But not bringing it to OP. Like limitation on size of a target that drones target at all by themselves.

That’s funny, I was just thinking the same thing about you. I’ve tried to point out in constructive and non-negative ways why your idea is a bad one, but you don’t seem willing to listen. At the very least, you didn’t even bother to take the time to reply to the specific issues I raised in my earlier posts.

No, all I am hearing is “let’s take a weapon system that is broadly considered to be too flexible and facilitates botting and make it even more flexible and facilitate botting more.” Maybe that makes me closed minded, but given that I have explained my position clearly and you’ve ignored those explanations, I’m thinking not.

All you’re willing to hear is people who agree with you.

Please follow up on a discussion that You’ve missed. Above as I can’t be arsed to keep repeating myself and arguing my point with several people simultaneously without them listening to each other
