More important: you were able to conquer one and lock enemy assets there for quite some time. Same with the old Staging POSes - if you could attack one, bring it down, place your own tower and bubble it, you had trapped all logged off caps and supercaps of the enemy until he found a way to re-conquer that spot. That forces conflict, that forces fights, that leads to escalations. The current citadel mechanics with their magic asset safety teleportation is just paralyzing the game.
The important thing here is ālock themā . They were not destroyed, not moved or had to be evacuated desperately. They were just locked in place. You could still reconquer the outpost to get them back or join the new holders with alts to get them back or even properly sell them to the new holders. The system offered much more positive gameplay possibilities than citadels do.
Wouldnāt that be an interesting twistā¦
Noā¦it didnāt. There have, for example, been so many battles fought by Absolute Order lately that my alts in that corp havenāt had time to attend them all. And this char, which mainly suspect hunts, is active a lot and increasingly getting the skills and courage to go for larger targets. I particularly want to go for the baitersā¦and then end up being the solo scourge of lowsec. My real Eve heroes are the people with 10,000 lowsec solo kills.
Conflict isnāt dead. Itās the only reason I am in Eveā¦and I think anyone can find conflict quite easily.
That sounds great now new players can be jammed on a short bus elbow to elbow with all of the big boys with no ships isk or sp to compete.
I can see people uninstalling the game about an hour in. Besides whatās the point of a space game if you canāt explore space?
I agree with the latterā¦as thatās increasingly the route I am taking. Iāve learned vastly more in 3 months of solo suspect hunting than I ever did in 3 years of flying doctrine ships into battle.
But I also think that had CCP not nerfed the Procurer back in November 2021 Iād probably have spent the past 3 years being a minerā¦or more likely have left due to that. People get sucked into mining, especially carebears like I originally was, and that threshold of stepping up to do combat never gets reached. I suspect more people fade away from the boredom of that than ever do from ganking or space being too big or whatever.
So many frozen

Iām more about the market place, proud to say I hold the front line for Plex at 6 million a piece.
This game is all about making money.
Set up shop got a few drops and got some milk money.
Rose from the rocks, now I got that socks made of silk money.

Isk To Plex, Plex To isk
Trade Hub warfare is the only pvp that matters I donāt even need to undock while I rake it in.
To each his own.
For me itās about collecting stuff. And I have a ā ā ā ā of a lot of stuff right now.
Mr Epeen
What do you collect ?
I want to be a good SKINR artist at some day.
A little bit of everything. Mostly ships these days. Though Iāll probably sell them off when I hit two trillion worth and focus on something else. Maybe rare skins or fashion.
Mr Epeen
Carebears collects ships, but heās too afraid to undock any of them.
ā¦fly gankships and hide in high sec.
