I have been building an industry tool for my own EVE career, and it is now
useful enough to share.

EVE Retroindustry runs on your own machine (Windows, Linux, experimental
Android). No sign-up, nothing to register, no server of mine: you log in with
EVE SSO, it talks to ESI directly, and your data stays on your disk.

  • Production planner - bill of materials for anything, Jita buy or sell
    pricing, your own stock counted in, job fees and time, structure and rig
    ME/TE, and a make-vs-buy optimiser that weighs install fees
  • Assets across all your alts and corp hangars, sortable by group and by
    volume, assembled ships opening into a fitting layout
  • Contracts - personal, corp and alliance, plus a public browser covering
    all of New Eden, searchable by the items inside a contract and priced line by
    line
  • Blueprints, market orders, industry jobs, wallets, PI colonies with extractor
    timers, price history and order books

Free, source on GitHub. I build it for myself first, so there is no support
promise - but bug reports are welcome and I read them.

Most of the code was written with AI assistance, with me designing, directing
and testing it.

There’s a lot of really good stuff here, its a nice comprehensive package. Some random feedback in no particular order:

  • A compact mode - there’s a lot of wasted space around the place, for exaple the asset list.
  • Settings configuration options, ie. the above compact mode option
  • Option to merge corp in with characters rather than be separated (for a lot of us they’re one and the same)
  • There is substantial latency on every category change, even swapping from A to B and back to A.
  • It seems like more should be cached, the dashboard should not need to check everything before displaying datat when you click back into it. By all means check for updates, but at least instantly show the last shown value imo.

I really like what you’ve done so far though, looking forward to seeing any changes if you keep at it.
