Faction Warfare in 2021

This is actually false. Let it be known that FW does not harm your standings if you are not doing specific things.

https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Faction_warfare_standings

Missions hurt hahahahaha. Don’t kill the mission rats or else. Everyone knows that missions are bad for FW, so let the standings be for that
Don’t kill friendly militia. As I mentioned earlier, I wish that could be relaxed in the case of anti-botting, but I see the idea.
Faction rats incur NO standings drop!
Promotion… eh whatever, wish it didn’t happen, but c’est la vie.
Killing enemy militia (NPC Corp) is not great if you want to swap between Tribal Liberation Force and 24th Imperial Crusade during the warzone swings, but swapping between Ushra’Khan and the Crusade (for example) is fine!
Capturing complex incurs no derived standings drop, so it’s farmable!
Killing allied militia has no standing penalties he he he haw. Time to hunt some Gallentes! (jk lol)

But yeah pretty much standings aren’t that bad. I think I could just go to the Amarrs right now if I wanted too, and I’ve been doing this for a very long time.

Hey guys, hate to break it to you but:

CCP does not give a flying ■■■■ about FW.

If they truly did, it would’ve been fixed already, as the core issues with it persist since almost a decade.

Me and a friend been looking for some change of play styles and have been looking at FW as a possibility. Minmatar Militia to be more precise.

We don’t have time for most types of fleets atm. The guy got kids and family, I got a dog and work lots of hours and my date at some weekends. lol

Anyway… I wonder if its viable isk and fun wise to join the struggling side.

Best regards all.

You can surely still find some casual goodfights yes, but be warned you will spend 70% of your time gating and looking for suitable engagements.

And it’s good thing. Because if they truly did, they would broke it even more. Same as literally any part of the game they touched in last few years.

But there is nothing bad in dreaming and venting some steam by complaining on forum

I mean, to some degree, you may be definitely right …

That’s exactly the reason, why I am afraid of ppl asking for very complex setups…
And what I was referring to, when I said “unmonitored” - because EVE is a complex thing.
I understand that they mess up and fail at times… It comes with the complexity… So changes require diligent monitoring… which they don’t do / or are not able to do…

They assume ■■■■ will work out - and do not verify… And not only with FW. Even simple and obvious stuff… Like the price of a T1 Battleship compared to some Pirate Battleships… It’s not rocket science to compare numbers… But they don’t…

Struggling side changes so join whichever faction you like for whatever reasons you have.

Some days yes, some days no. I’ve undocked into multiple fights within the first half hour of playing, and I’ve roamed for an hour without anyone interested in fighting. Though I will say you can always go to tama. That’s pretty much guaranteed content, it just might not be quite what you’re looking for lol

I guess the key question to me is: would you find more fights doing the same thing in another area of space? Because I have roamed null and man, sometimes it is dead as ■■■■ and you find no one. Ratting ishtars dont count unless they escalate lol… I’ve had decent fights there too, though.

Most of what I encounter is
a) killing ratters
b) some null bloc attempting to dogpile you with a bunch of marauders and supers
c) other roaming gangs of 5-15

So if you’re looking for 1v1 content or tiny gang fights (5-15 is def small gang so… like you and a buddy is what I’m saying), it’s a lot harder to make that work in null unless you really know how to work your angle. FW space can be good for that kind of thing, and for learning. It tends to be more newbro friendly. Yes there are snaked pirates everywhere, but also good luck in a T1 frig trying to find an interesting fight in null.
