FC, when a courier loses a load to the hazards on the road, as a contract provider, I’d like to see what was in the load privately so that I can replace what was lost. Currently, I get nothing but a failed contract with no load info other than size, which leaves my business missing mystery materials…
Thanks for considering it, I understand if its too much code trouble to provide.
You should be able to look up your contract (that failed) by checking your Contracts List - Past, Present, and any future. Neocom > Finacial > Contracts > Load/Search your Contracts (Labelled “Finished” or equivalent for the “Failed” ones).
Courier contracts that ‘‘fail’’ on the way are 99.99% of the time scam contracts. You would be replacing worthless items to people whose intent was to scam money out of you from the start.
EDIT: if I remember correctly you can just view what’s inside from under right click menu (if that still works. Haven’t done these in ages).
I’m sure (s)he means that a contract was setup, it was accepted, during it’s hauling process the ship carrying the cargo was destroyed (likely ganked) and thus the contract has failed.
Any contract that requires you to use Expanded Cargohold II’s are highly questionable (likely “gank” contract), on this I would agree with you.
Yes, that’s how I understood it. What a ‘‘coincidence’’!
High m3 contracts are not questionable. High collateral contracts are. But even medium-level collateral contracts can easily be used as an income for the issuer. One way to avoid these scams is to contract the courier wrap to your alt, who is not in the same corp with you, who will then haul it to destination.
I’ve never tried to locate this in particular, but can you find the ship loss on the character that accepted it?
Did you receive a “time of loss” or did it just time out?
Did you lose money?
The OP is talking about his own lost contracts and that they want to know what was shipped. Right now, you as issuer do not know what is in a package as soon as it is accepted. You cannot check the contents of your own couriers. Only the person who took the contract can check the package contents (but not of older contracts either).
They do not care or want to know about the loss mail, which does not necessarily show the contract contents either as courier haulers tend to subcontract from the contract taker to the actual hauler.
It all seems strange.
Keeping accurate records should be easier.
Not with CCP gameplay features.
Yet they call Eve a “game of spreadsheets”.
Indeed, but you can’t even API call the couriers and their contents into a spreadsheet. You only see the same blackbox, non-descript courier info that you have ingame.
Sure, you can copypaste a list of all the items of a courier into a list, every time you setup a courier. That’s totally reasonable to do … when Item Exchange contracts tell ingame exactly what their contents are.
Right. Somehow I misread the ‘‘contract provider’’ part as ‘‘service provider’’. Anyway, disregard my previous posts then.
You guys have vivid imaginations…and Its a good thing I guess. But its just a simple question for FC tbh. I literally stated the situation and why it would be good for men like me.
We can close the thread really as long as someone at FC got the chance to understand the issue.
