Fetching PI status from the ESI

I’m looking into how I can track my PI planets through the ESI but it seems like without being ingame and viewing the planet the launchpad/factory storage amounts don’t update.

All I really want is something that tells me how full the storages are, and from that I can work out how long the factories can keep running for etc.

Am I correct in the above?
Is there a way to make them update without logging into the game?
Is there a better way to track planets already that I don’t know about (right now I’m just aiming to get to them at the same time each day)?

Do some math based on when you put in the jobs and how much they produce per hour. No ESI needed.
