Well I was trying to do a few number things, but was interrupted too many times, so not much context but a few numbers and graphs, I found a few of them interesting and do not want to delete them.
CCP gave numbers saying we have 40% of players being new yearly, now we all know CCP statistics, but the contest this was given, thinking it is problematic high and wishing to improve retention, they seem motivated to actually get an accurate number. I would believe them in we have many new players, and I will agree with others (I forget which thread here on forums somewhere) saying new players, especially ones that do not stay very long, are likely to only have 1 account. So many players only have 1 account. Suggesting 40% only has 1 account, seems a high percentage to me, but maybe it could actually be true.
Found the picture from 2022:
2.6 accounts on average according to CCP. Now can believe that or not, I will just go with around there.
These two numbers combined then puts long term players at 3.7 accounts on average. (which makes the 40% only having 1 account above, sound much more likely to me than it first did, once start multiboxing Eve accounts multiply fast, it is not hard to find people with way more than 4 accounts, who need to be “pulled down” if the average of the long term player is only 3.7 / all players only 2.6).
Player count actually stabilizing?
Combining these two graphs, suggest the last 2 years have been very good for Eve - relatively to the recent past that is.
Everyone will have to decide on jestertrek’s credibility self, I dont know them and didn’t take time to research anything. I just found it interesting how the trend from first graph is a clear drop, combined with how the second graph show 2025 near match with 2024, after 2023 ended with a climb up, suggesting actual stabilization in accounts / player activity.
Stumbled over this scrolling down the thread a little " the guy with 261 accounts", no idea if its true, obviously referencing something but no source. If true this one guy will need about 162 players with just 1 account to “pull him down” to a 2.6 average.
