Follow-up to this thread.
I am still seeing the problem (on Windows 11) where the update download will occasionally fail and start over at the nearest chunk boundary, which usually is several MB ago. Call it the “two steps forward, one step back” problem. I do eventually get to 100% downloaded, ready to play, but it’s after a lot more time and a big bite out of my 5G data cap.
If updates weren’t so large and frequent, this wouldn’t be a problem, but the combination of all three: updates are large, updates are frequent, and update downloading backslides = not worth the effort.
I’ll check back in the future to see if the download algorithm is improved so that it picks up right where it failed (to the byte would be best, but to the nearest 1MB would be okay). Until then, happy contrails, and thanks for all the fish!
