How does Plex vault work?

How does it work and if I got blow up does my Plex in the vault will be gone?

The vault is an out-of-game storage for PLEX. What’s in there is safe, that is its purpose. However if you put PLEX in your ship hangar and undock, you may lose ship and PLEX. But there is no reason to ever put PLEX in a ship or even station hangar anymore.

Also PLEX located anywhere in game can be moved into the PLEX vault no matter where you are located. All three characters on the account will have access to any PLEX located in the vault.
