How Many Actual Female Players Are in EVE?

Exactly right. And I don’t see the point in it. EVE Online isn’t a dating app.

Same thing for me. A hobby and nice distraction.

I don’t really care how many women play this game, it’s not putting any ISK in my pocket. This is 2025 why does it matter anyway?

No one said it was.

Why does anything matter?

And you know it does..

Aiko is solidly on the hot/crazy scale irl.

Now I know you’re BSing me.

Good try though.

Does she have a Twitch?

Eve would be better with more female players.

Yo, I think it’s ■■■■■■■ ridiculous that you are trying to have this conversation about me every goddamn day, for 5 ■■■■■■■ years. I understand that you have some doubts about whether I’m female or not, and you think that justifies harassing me with your opinions. Look, I know who and what I am, and I don’t need to discuss it or debate it with you, or anyone else. I don’t need to prove anything, or be subjected to this toxic ■■■■■■■■.

That’s not forum PvP. It’s sexual harassment. YOU are sexually harassing me, by posting every day about my sex, gender, sexuality, and your perceptions thereof. That’s literally the definition of sexual harassment. You even send inappropriate images! Even if I’m not female, which I am but whatever, it’s still NONE of your business. It’s STILL sexual harassment. Like, what’s your point… I’m gay? I’m trans? I’m just an alpha male and you are a beta pleb? What’s wrong with you? You need to stop. You are an obsessive creep and you need to go to a therapist. Maybe try AA.

@CCP_Swift @CCP_Hellmar @ISD_Drew

Can you please review support ticket #2366846 - it is just beyond ■■■■■■■ ridiculous that this guy is STILL going on five years after CCP told him to stop. There is no reason this should be a daily ■■■■■■■ topic of debate and conversation driven by this loser who hides behind an anonymous forum alt. There’s no reason that any player should be subjected to this kind of prolonged and continual harassment.

Like how many times do we need to have this same conversation??

So you’re telling me I finally got ganked by a girl? Kewl…

uh… no you can’t.

Some people are much better than others, and if it is some joker trying to fake you out, they will. My husband has a soft spoken voice with a sight southern accent and he gets called miss on the phone by random sales calls. While my voice sounds like a young boy or girl, with age it has become more rough. I am far from soft spoken and when angry I often swear. I swear even when I am not angry. The only way to know for sure is a face to face, and even then in many cases… I will just say those 3 men in “Too Wong Foo” were convincing as women.

Have fun!

Voice filters are a thing too.

Okay, I’ll be more specific – you can tell in most cases. Sure, some girls might have lower voices, and some guys may have softer voices, but you can tell. At least I can. Even a rough-sounding female voice is explicitly female. There’s just a certain characteristic to it that men’s voices don’t have. Some men (some, by far most men CANNOT) can, however pull off a realistic-sounding female voice, but it takes effort, and unless they pay attention 100% they’ll drop it at some point, at which point you can tell.

If somebody runs their voice through an effect before broadcasting it, well, in those cases I can’t tell, that’s true.

In any case, a voice is more proof than a picture. You suggested picture as proof. Any dude can find some realistic female images online or just pull some from their family album (or as they do it nowadays, use AI) – it’s not proof and means nothing.

There aren’t that many females playing EVE. Even fewer in number are guys pretending to be chicks and then really committing to it so much that they’re gonna filter their voice to sound like a chick’s on EVE comms. Yeah, maybe 1 or 2 players are like that. Maybe a couple of more, I don’t know. But I do know there aren’t that many dudes like that and there are very low odds of my running into one. Not that I care either way. So not statistically significant.

If some guy wants to go through all that trouble to do that – whatever gets him off, I guess. He’ll be found out sooner or later anyway.

I’ve long stated that I look like Donald Sutherland in RL. But…I like to fly around in a pink ship just to annoy people.

I think this is a female player.

This player might be female, but then again, people can identify themselves as male, female, or other. In the doctor’s office filling out the paperwork, I check other and write in unicorn.

Have fun!

I categorically deny the accusations made above. I have not engaged in any discussion of this user’s gender or identity, nor have I posted “every day for five years.”

Forum PvP isn’t harassment, but false public accusations certainly can be. I trust the moderation team can review the actual forum history and support tickets to determine the truth.

Any doctor taking you seriously would redirect you to a vet.

This topic is a bit of a minefield, so I’ll start by saying: In most cases, it shouldn’t even matter.

But if (for whatever reason) it does, don’t rely on the pitch of a person’s voice to determine sex. That’s a superficial quality, and one easily manipulated. Instead, listen for variance of inflection, sentence length and structure, emotive/evocative cues, word choice, and particularly, patterns of mirroring vs besting. Mirroring (or matching) is a common trait of female communication while besting (or one-upping) a common male trait. In a group conversation where the sex of at least some of the participants are known, you can also listen for a speaker’s pattern variance. While men often speak in a similar manner to both men and women, women tend to speak differently when talking to a man than when talking to another woman.

Caveat: The above is based on generalities of human behavior—the typical product of biological hardwiring plus socialization. For any number of reasons, exceptions certainly exist.
