When the new forums came into existence, the closure policy applied to threads was 90 days from creation. It’s subsequently been changed to 90 days of inactivity, but older threads didn’t automatically get the new policy.
If the thread was active less than a fortnight ago, you should have good cause to appeal and get it opened again.
