It Can't Be That Hard!

Bring back information about players in the forums! Even back before the Ice Age, Eve Forums told you what Corp. and Alliance (if any) a posting player belonged to. Now, you have to log into the game or rely on some third party to provide that information. Or, God forbid you could see their Birthday or Employment History. Why isn’t this information readily available or at least one click away? CCP =

That is hardly “one click” and the information there is not up to date. So, you’re telling me what was already in the Old Forums is too difficult to have in the New Forums? They already took away html and colors.

Life is hard…EVE is harder…CCP’s forums are next level hard…times 3…

This just happened to me.
So i went and got milk

Don’t listen to Runa, she’s just miserable. There used to be a third party Greasemonkey script for this but since CCP changed so much stuff around on the forums over time, the creator had to change the script several times as well and eventually stopped working on it. It’s a shame but hiding information and making things harder to do is CCP’s go to thing these days.

It’s none of your damn business !

Maybe they just didn’t want to add it.
If they were to add it, they may as well add in all the pubic information like kills… you know, for e-peen reasons.

Do you remember the old, old forums? We could elect to show our corp. and/or alliance. Also, signatures used to be a thing.

Not sure how useful that info even is since the vast majority of people you find on the forums are alts.

I mean… you’re not wrong…

My first thought, when I’ve noticed the lack of corporations/alliances,
was that it’s meant to put a layer of protection onto those who post on the forums.

Then I’ve realised that the vast majority of people people hide behind alts,
exactly because they know they’ll get their asses kicked in-game for being assholes.

Funnily enough they use this as an argument justifying their asshole…yness %).

“because they know they’ll get their asses kicked in-game by assholes who take the forums in-game.”

Does that really happen or it is mostly a fear that it will?

No, it’s the other way round.

People who spread ■■■■ are hiding behind alts because they’re assholes. When they get attacked in game, then that’s a consequence of people being assholes. If they weren’t assholes, they’d not get attacked and wouldn’t need to hide behind alts.

Your fantasy is that good people get attacked by assholes.
Reality is that good people don’t need to hide behind alts.

It used to happen, but as usual it was simply the consequences you had to suffer for being an asshole.
As far as I can tell it’s not really a thing anymore, probably because the amount of assholes decreased overall, while the level of ■■■■■■■■ stayed roughly the same.

Well when everyone who disagrees with you or have different opinion is asshole, then your statement makes perfect sense.

Your fantasy is that you fail to realise you’r talking out of your rear-end. Of course ‘good’ people get attacked as a result of forum postings, the same as they get attacked when they ask a question in Rookie Help. The world is full of assholes, and Eve seems to attract quite a few of them.
