Keeping PvE players in EVE

I don’t? How do you figure that?
I do both, and sometimes at the same time.

Because you wouldn’t say things like “Then why is there so much of it in every single system?” if you did.

Hey tutu. Interested in raiding Null?

It’s amazing how these people who’ve never actually been there create these false narratives, convince themselves that they’re real, and then try to convince other people that they’re real, even though though those other people were not only there, but engaged in these gameplay elements as their primary activity in the game. Like the time that Kezrai was saying how there was no ganking in the game back then (ganking existed since day 1), or DMC said that CCP added CONCORD because players were getting griefed too much (CONCORD was in the game since day 1).

■■■■■■■ speechless.

What the hell are you talking about? CPP put PvE stuff in Eve deliberately it wasn’t an accident, PvP benefits from this fact in all sorts of ways.

You shouldn’t be raiding null, because if you do, CCP will think that null is “fine” and doesn’t need drastic changes since they expect PvP activity to take place there.

I would instead recommend in raiding the absolute bejeebus out of high-sec in order to force CCP’s hand to take action there by either making concessions to the piracy sphere in order to ease the pressure, or ruin their game beyond salvation by removing PvP from high-sec entirely.

I wanna help with that, though I would rather your last outcome doesn’t happen. I want them to let me use bombs in Jita.
Lots and lots of bombs.

I didn’t know that, loads of people have told me the same thing. I think it’s a very wide spread assumption at this point.

When I pretend to be a new player, lots of people tell me that small lasers are a good thing to put on a Megathron, or that killing someone in high-sec is an illegal exploit and should be petitioned. What’s your point?

i prefer the big blaster megatrons
they hurt

I can’t argue with your logic. But will CCP ever fix it? Do we have to do it ourselves?

They’re at least aware of the issue now, considering some recent changes. That’s why it’s important to not ease the pressure right now.

What ever happened to the Jita raids? Seems that was a one off?

Only that I didn’t know that Concord has been in the game since day one, I thought they came out a few years later. I also thought, and still think that they are poorly implemented, but that’s just because I want to be able to attack people who attack people in my fleet and a few other situations I can’t think of off the top of my head.
Anyhow, I think there are a lot of misconceptions like that and a lot of people accept them as fact not knowing otherwise.
I think a lot of it is spread around in the Rookie Help channel.

Well I’ve loosely kept in touch with the changes but seen nothing interesting result from it.

The problem is people think Null is protected.

It’s a giant open candy store ripe for raiding

Here’s the important question, though: why did you think that?

Did you read this somewhere, hear it from someone else, or arrived at the conclusion yourself?

What, Burn Jita? It has been a regular event. (not sure about the last couple of years, I’ve been out of touch)

I was told that in Rookie Chat in my first week, but then heard it over and over from other people. After a while, and in the absence of anyone saying otherwise I just figured it was the case. Now I’m wondering if I have told anyone that, but I don’t think I have. Mostly when it comes to Concord I try to avoid explaining what they do (or don’t do) and why. It’s one of those things where it’s so bloody full of rules it’s not worth the effort.
I did recently have to explain to someone who’s been playing for a lot longer than I have how highsec PvP works… It wasn’t fun. It started off with them asking me if other players would know if they changed their safety system and turned into a multi hour process. I should have been able to just say “nope, not unless you do something” but that’s not the case.

There you go.

I can’t believe that CCP does absolutely nothing to correct so much ridiculous misinformation about their game.

I think they should add PvP to the new player experience, like add it to the tutorial and add a career agent mission set.
I suspect that would help a lot of people in the begining to understand how things work.
The problem with things like this is that people think they are true (I did) and then wonder why it’s so screwed up.
