Keeping PvE players in EVE

this would become way unbalanced and there would be no point in having a pvp system because the way that eve is designed it would not function correctly without the pvp mixed with the pve.

There no need for other PvE only server. We have switch that can prevent you from pvp with another player. You know, it is that green light staff. So we just need the same switch to turn off ability of another player PVP with you. Right? And everything will be nice. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Wrong.

I played from 2005 until around 2018 and despite what the current playerbase will say on the matter, EVE was designed to be both PvP and PvE and it handled it better than any other mixed game I have seen. With the exception of wars, for the most part, PvP stayed in Low sec. Players who wanted PvP lived in low, and highsec’ers were free to run missions and mine to their hearts content. High clone costs and loss of skills upon death is what kept it in balance.

Absolutely false. You’re merely imagining the history in which you want to believe.

Or, just maybe, your imagining the history you want to believe.

Ganking, can flipping, mission busting, solo/small group wardecs, extortion etc etc etc.

Lots and lots of that happened back then.

I didn’t say it didn’t. I said for the most part. Maybe it didn’t seem like a big deal because I was smart enough to know what to look out for but it was never a problem for me.

I would say that if you were smart enough to not have that happen to you back then, you’d know exactly what the “problem” was, even 10 years later.

The “problem” is what I said in my original post that no one bothers to quote because it doesn’t fit the “EVE IS PVP!!” agenda… The thing that kept it in check was removed.

As someone who’s actually spent some time being a -10 low-sec gate camper during EVE’s first decade, and spent well over a decade of active gameplay being a high-sec mercenary as early as during the Privateers era, I’m telling you that you’re wrong.

low sec best sec

Want to join a Null raiding fleet? Start figuring that out?

I will repeat myself… I didn’t say PvP didn’t happen in High. I said for the most part. Sure PvPers had their tricks…war decs, can flipping, ect… to lure unsuspecting players. Compared to the game wide gankage that happens now without the checks and balances I mentioned it surely was the way I remember.

Um, no. High clone costs did not “keep PvP in check” because hardly anyone ever lost pods in highsec. With no bubbles to catch them pods were (and still are) effectively invulnerable.

i like to suspect bait in HS, but i live in low, don’t like the null life at all , my experience is being in a big alliance , nothing wrong wit it but i didn’t like to rat so i don’t , i didn’t like to mine in big ships/fleets so i don’t, i bought a dread just to undock and be with the cool kids but never really use it ,i dit the minimum amount o fleets possible to get papis and don’t be kicked , like really the minimum , i ended mining gas in a frig to pay my bills and doing some low scale pvp that is more suited to low sec, wen i left i thought im going to live in low and that was a long time ago , low is my favorite sec by far , you get more fights and the pilots have a nice culture of PVP

Then why is there so much of it in every single system?

Because you don’t understand the difference between “players who do PvE” and “PvE players”.
