Let’s take a guess: how long will it take the FC to fix the bug?

It is common knowledge that EVE Online features Factional Warfare and Pirate Insurgency gameplay, where players earn victories and Loyalty Points (LP) by eliminating enemy ships and capturing combat anomalies. These anomalies are tiered by size: 1-man, 3-man, 4-man, 10-man, and 30-man, with the 30-man variant offering the highest LP rewards.

If you join the Pirate Militia and choose the Angel Cartel faction, however, your LP income will inevitably be the lowest—and many must wonder why.

The root cause lies in the Pirate 30-man anomaly, where both Pirate and Empire forces must compete to secure a fuel ship that spawns at the far end of the site after warp-in.

For Angel Cartel pilots, approaching the fuel ship triggers the message:

“You have joined the wrong faction.”

This bug completely prevents Angel Cartel members from earning any LP in the 30-man anomaly at all.

By contrast, the Angel Cartel’s enemies—the Amarr Empire and Minmatar Republic—can:

  1. Run their own Empire 30-man anomalies for LP, and

  2. Then enter the Angel Cartel’s Pirate 30-man anomalies to contest the fuel ship there as well.

This bug has persisted for over a year, allowing Amarr and Minmatar players to easily control the fuel ship spawns, quickly complete the 30-man site, and farm LP with impunity. Because Angel Cartel members cannot even select the tractor option normally, they have abandoned the 30-man anomaly entirely.

Forced by this bug, many have left the Angel Cartel faction and defected to the Amarr or Minmatar militias—exploiting the bug to gain far more LP than they ever could as pirates.

Well, that’s definitely a bummer…

Hopefully everybody involved has submitted a Bug report…
