Hello there, I’ve already contacted support about this issue but no valuable fix has been given yet so I am throwing this question here.
To cut it short, I am having around 40-60 fps in my main account in Null-sec space while my alt character gets about 90-120 fps in Jita. Both of these characters have the exact same graphical settings.
I also had an issue recently where my game would freeze for a milisecond every 2 seconds and I realized that it would be smooth once I stopped the skill queue. So after I stopped the skill queue and removed my character from the launcher and logged in again, the stuttering was gone but the FPS count was still half between the characters.
I’ve fresh installed windows and the game multiple times on different drives, cleared caches and settings, full downloaded the game on client yet nothing has fixed this anomaly. I want to see if anybody has this issue and a fix to it.
One thing you can do is opening the FPS counter with Ctrl+F and check your multiple accounts to see if you are having the same issue but not realizing it.
You have not described if those two characters are on the same account or on two accounts, meaning if you run them at the same time or one after the other.
If you run them at the same time, does the higher FPS change around with the active windows? If this is the effect, then it runs down to the Windows patches and GPU type used to find the settings that cause this. This would then be default behavior of windows.
But from your description this might not be the scenario and your character in null gets 40 fps and then you log him out and log your Jita character in an this one gets 90 fps, right? And this is reproducible?
I do have almost the same problem. I do run 3 accounts on 3 screens.
The 2 acounts in highsec run with 400 FPS, the account in nullsec with max 120 and does sometimes have lag when undocking or gatejumping (Fleetmember can jump faster). Every account has the same settings. If i do a clone jump into highsec, it will also run with 400 fps. There must be a problem with the char while in nullsec.
How do those FPS rates make any difference in a game like EVE Online apart from wasting power and resources? Limit it to 60fps and be done with it?
Apart from that i also experience different fps if a system is crowded or supposedly residing on a weak server node. Maybe the server hardware for your nullsec area is poorly equipped or too many systems run on one node.
The account with 120 fps doesnt run good. If i warp to a gate and switch to second or third screen the first will have big lag and and only will have 10 fps. While the other two have around 100 fps when not in focus.
And i am not in a very crowded nullsec area.
I did try to limit the fps, it doesnt help. Char in null has still lags.
