Marauder ganked by 9 players---- no need 100% EHP?

Maybe that’s the problem. Go try to find and join some corp of knowledgeable people where you can discuss your views back and forth and do away with some of your misconceptions.

no you didnt…

I get I hurt your feelings by having differnent opinion on the Internent. Guys from Uedama most likely hurt your feelings too, so you even create this toon specifically to killwhore on them. Pls dont make an alt to killwhore on me, I would rather prefer you bring some counterpoints why marauders shouldnt be nerfed further

By the way since NOV 2024, when plate/extender bonus reverted, empire marauders’ hulls become 500m cheaper on average, from 1.5b to ~1b now. Too cheap dont you think? As we all(except OP) know, marauders provide premium active defenses and firepower availible to High security space. Yet players who decide to run T2 cheap fits greatly reduce chances to become gank target. To balance out this issue I propose to increase price to build T1 Bastion module to at least 100m total and reduce volume for all Bastion modules to 75m3, so T2 fitted marauders could have a chance to drop some actual loot not just cheap guns and faction battery at best.

So you’re complaining that people are flying their marauders in a thoughtful manner by not fitting bling modules and staying away from gank hot spots? Just seems like common sense to me. People are “doing it right” by not painting a bullseye on their hulls.

I recommend following the OP around since he likes super blingy fits that drop expensive modules.

Aahahah, you made me laugh  but it’s what I think…

except CV Bastion should not make cycles faster, strassing the capacitor, but simply add a passive boost to the repper. Then all faction Bastions should have more resistance than basics, that RF 40% should become 50% and all other 40%… This would normalize a bit this odd situation of 1.5B (not yet, but soon) which is anyway less than 2x type-A Multishield… Blingy and OP 100% Bonus plate got me to 600K EHP and survive a gank. If I’d run a cheap fit I’d be dead with the 100% bonus anyway,

faction Bastion needs a substantial balance rework.

PS: For older players that remember the nano-Vargur, they didn’t need the Bastion to do 100% DMG…

30s cycles, 3s cycles… it doesn’t matter really… we can’t go back as it works now to those times…

Imagine Bastion would simply do not block the ship into siege position.

I Think it’s one option that should be tested also, maybe make a Triglavian Bastion that do not put the ship in Siege mode but gives her +50% Base agility and speed… then the other boosts…

It’s hard.

Every change completely affects all other fields.

Don’t rule out anything, be propositive.

I just increased the ENI DPS to 986…managed to squeeze in a 1600 steel plate instead of an 800, add an extra magnetic field stabiliser. I love fiddling with ship fittings.

So my ENI for 86m ISK has 200 DPS more than my Tengu for 500m ISK, and not far off the same EHP. OK so its shorter range and no cloak…but is that trade off really worth 420m ISK ? Its all very well ‘balancing’ ships, but cost effectiveness in EVE is probably the most unbalanced thing of all.

Or both fits are bad, we can’t tell unless we see them.

An ENI beating a Proteus in basically every relevant stats seems… unlikely.

You multiply your active tank for seconds, and that add total EHP to your fit.

You need to know how maths is being used to do those calculations.

It was better to show both with their best bonuses applied than a 1-1 comparison,

It was better like this.

The T1 Raven has a better passive hp/s recharge than even the CN Raven.

Eg: 1000Hp/s rep in a 15s fight, with an omni tank of 80%, it’s 800x15s= 12K EHP. +OMNI= x4= 46KEHP to add to your basic stats of 150K EHP= around 200K EHP.

I’m not making it a passive gen fit bc it would not work the same.

It’s better to teach the audience the method used so they can reproduce it themselves.

Didn’t work out out too well for you, now did it?

This thread now has my attention again…the ways of the math will be teached to the audience…

May the maths be with you

So, 1000hp/s * 15sek at 80% resistances equals 12k EHP? Or x4 because OMNI so its 46k EHP? Oookay… what the heck…

Please leave the math to people who know how to use it.

Or use a simulator like Pyfa which can calculate such things for you.

(No, this is not how resistances work.)

The difference is not so great that it justifies a 5-fold difference in price. My Proteus has more DPS…though it needs 6 neutron blasters to surpass what the ENI can do with 4. And the ENI has much better scan res, aligns faster, and has faster sub-warp speed.

EVE is a bit like RL…where sometimes all you are paying loads extra for is a label.

I like labels

Unless you show the fits you are talking about, I call that nonsense. If there was an ENI fit that could beat a Proteus for 1/5th of it’s price, rest assured you wouldn’t be the first to find out and people would use it all over. I’d rather say, the Proteus you use as reference is pretty badly fitted.

Why do you keep mis-representing what I said ? My point is not about whether the Proteus is inherently ‘better’ than the ENI…but that whatever advantage it has is not worth 5 times as much. And its a point I could make about many ship comparisons.

FC go to great lengths to ‘balance’ various ship relationships, yet the biggest imbalance in the whole game is the absurd price differentials. For 5 times as much you don’t get something 5 times as good.

Well, then you stated the obvious, something most players found to be the case after a day or two. Gratz!

It somehow sounded like your ENI would surpass a Proteus in DPS and EHP and speed and aligntime and scanresolotion for 1/5th the price. :man_shrugging:

So you gonna show the thing or is it something secret special that is such a brilliant piece of art, it needs to be preserved for the worthy?

That may be one of the best balances in this game, that performance doesn’t scale linearly with cost, but that every extra bit of added performance adds far more cost.

It is because of this design that the concept of an ‘economic fit’ works where you find your optimum of performance for a price you’re willing to pay.

If it all scaled linearly there would be very little reason to use any of the middle tiers modules or ships.

Either you think the price per performance is worth it and you sit on the expensive edge, or you think the price per performance is too high and sit on the cheap side, because it’s a straight line with just one price-per-performance rate, and thus just one choice.

After all, why use T2 modules twice as good as T1 if officer modules are five times stronger for only five times the price?

Linear performance scaling would be pretty awful.

flying a buffer Golem is for me like buying a Porsche with an Fiat 500 engine

you can do it but it is terrible

so I let my maraud in the garage and use other ships for lv4 mission

its bad but it is eve in 3 or 4 years or in 10 they make a change and marauders ar op or not who knows

there are so many ships for flying lv 4 who needs a marauder
