Thats already enough to evade 99% of ganks, 100m module wouldnt make any difference for this people. The ones who decide to fly in the more convinient/active/“higher rewarding” space would have take additional risk having at least one 100m module even if “they do it right”.
This is what i always wondered as well. I looked at those ships for so long thinking, yea i need to step up to one of those.
Nope, i never saw the investment worth it…especially after seeing the TC3 performance during that time.
People still to this day give me a little static about missioning with a TC3…saying its too slow, its low on dps, its this, its that. For me, its been the best missioning ship ive had out of all the ones ive done that with. All the training time and isk that went into into it was well worth the efforts.
yes tc3 are perfect tengu near 1000dps and you move the howl time so ganks are not that easy like a marauder or t2 command ships they do also well or a cheap cerberus 8xx dps normal no gank ships yes my marauder is better an faster but he cost 3to 6times more so he is in the garage
she’s picking various stats where ENI surpasses Proteus.. you can see from the last post
oh, no you can’t. i was about to ask for a fitting for the ENI that can warp cloaked etc.. a lesson on how statistics can intentionally be misleading.
It is a brilliant piece of art.
The ships are fitted almost identically. Both ships have Heavy Neutron Blasters and two Sensor Boosters, and warp scram and a Medium Targetting System Subcontroller. Where the Proteus has Covert Ops Cloak the ENI has a Medium Neut.
ENI DPS 986 ( overheated ) Proteus DPS 1017 ( overheated )…includes identical drones in both.
Range is identical
ENI Scan Res 814 Proteus Scan Res 803
ENI EHP 33,257 Proteus EHP 43,130
ENI Align Time 5.5 seconds Proteus Align Time 9.04 seconds
ENI sub-warp speed 2148 m/s Proteus sub-warp speed 1524 m/s ( both with 50mn YT-8 )
Absolutely agree with you on this. This is how it should be, and it would pretty much ruin the game and its economy if the prices scaled linearly. You pay 1000 times more to get a 1% advantage over your enemy. And that is exactly how it should be.
For comparisons from real life – you want a high performance car, you also pay several times as much as just for a ‘‘regular’’ box you can drive to the grocery store. And high end audio is the same. I have Naim Audio equipment at home, and I paid 2000+ eur per unit on those. The quality improvement was obvious, but I’d say the quality went up 5% max, and it was probably only 3%. It’s better, and you can detect it, but it’s not THAT much better. If you have cash to spend on it though, then it’s worth it.
I don’t think anyone’s expecting it to be linear. But I think you are missing the point that larger ships are ‘balanced’ against smaller ones. I mean…in the real world a battleship would blow a frigate out of the water long before the frigate got the battleship in range. Yet in EVE they ‘balance’ it by allowing the frigate way better turret tracking. That is how a frigate can defeat a battleship. This sort of ‘balancing’ already flattens out the advantage curve.
So you are already not really getting a battleship sized advantage over a frigate…yet you are paying that extreme non-linear cost curve for it.
People in their blingy Golems simply end up making themselves a juicier target. A 1% improvement can make them 50% juicier ![]()
It looks like you’re using the Covert subsystem instead of one of the more combat-capable subsystems for the Proteus in your comparison.
The covert subsystem has it’s upsides, but is weaker in combat to make up for the huge upside of flying a T3C with covert configuration.
A fairer comparison with another non-covops combat cruiser would be to use either the active repair or the buffer fit for the Proteus. For example with the buffer fit subsystem the Proteus will go significantly faster than the number you mentioned, as it’s going to ignore the plate debuffs while the ENI will feel those in a comparable buffer fit.
ah, now I remember… you are that guy farming Newbs in Jita. In that case, I congratulate you for having found a faction cruiser / T3C fit that can reliably beat Capsules, Corvettes and the occasional Merlin. A true piece of art indeed.
You mean, a miner can watch as CONCORD blows up the last Purifier that killed your Golem?
It’s not like the Venture dealt that damage:
I must say, it’s nice that you could fire one salvo back at the enemies before your Golem died!
That is also true. But do we want them to change that behavior?
He is a notorious liar, what did you expect? The more surprising fact is that he seem to believe everyone else is stupid enough to fall for this nonsense.
On the other hand… judging by the conversations we know… it isn’t that suprising…
Accidents happen. He was probably searching for his cargohold button or something.
Bal bla… you just can’t recognize the greatness when you see it…
Peace
And follow the script. ( not your wallet)
The explanation I assumed to be the case is that he didn’t notice it himself.
Missing crucial details is something he’s good at.
The greatness of being ganked? You deserve credits for living long enough with the golem to send a single volley of torpedoes to a bomber tho! ^^ That still doesn’t mean that Venture “made a kill” or something. ![]()
See? I made you laugh at last! If that’s not Greatness I don’t know what is…
My T1 Raven Vs Golem comparation is flawless also…
You got lots of inputs for the Bastion module as well, from this and other similar topics.
We’re all on the right side of things, it’s just your spectrum has been nerfed… ![]()
All on my own and without a fleet of 37 to back me up.
