When completing missions, some ore is wasted, depending on the characteristics of the equipment used. Generated resources do not imply redundancy, taking into account waste during mining. There are no warnings that the modules used prevent mission completion due to some resource being wasted. Therefore, the mission cannot be completed with some mining modules. Tested on the Pioneer destroyer withs Minner II.
Mining Drones II were also used to speed up mining.

It’s too bad there’s no warning against using Mining drones in the mission description.
You’ve misunderstood the problem! Due to waste, the resource ran out before downtime. It’s impossible to complete the mission. I waited for downtime in hopes of replenishing the resource. I think this used to happen, but I had to mine the entire resource, not just the missing portion. And there’s no warning about not being able to use something while completing a mission.
The mining lasers aren’t the problem. There is a bug with using mining drones for mission ore. If they pop an asteroid, and you tell them to harvest the next asteroid before they return to your ship with the ore they are carrying, the ore just goes into the nether and you will come up short.
