By the way, while you were whining in this thread I made 160 million ISK on an Alpha toon…
That’s incorrect… You can play the game while training skills…
What you actually mean to say is you want to jump straight into higher level content and collect high value rewards on day one with an Alpha account without putting in any time or effort…
The game is kinda badly designed though.
Frigates are 500k, okay, i can make that in like 3 and a half good paying Level 1 security missions, even less if i get a lucky drop…
Level 2 security missions require a cruiser, which level 1 security missions can not pay for, neither can the Level 2 themselves, so im kinda stuck there. Lets try some other content!
Lets do serpentis hideaway / burrow / refuge
Okay got a DED 3 escalation, but i need a Cruiser for it…
Again, serpentis hideaway / burrow / refuge dont pay enough to buy a 15 mil cruiser.
So im basically just stuck at playing with frigates / destroyers for a few days, and the rest of the pve content in high sec requires a cruiser, but the pve content in high sec before needing a cruiser does not pay enough to actually get a cruiser for the rest of the high sec pve content.
Then you’ll just have to grind for a few days to get it. Welcome to EVE…
I bet all the new players coming with the next expansion are gonna [hate] love this game
EVE was not made for Gen Z / Gen Alpha gamers with the patience and attention span of a toddler on crack…
No they don’t.
Yes they can.
Okay got a DED 3 escalation, but i need a Cruiser for it…
No you don’t.
Again, serpentis hideaway / burrow / refuge dont pay enough to buy a 15 mil cruiser.
Yes they do.
All that aside, there are faster ways to do it. Again, what do you feel is an “appropriate” amount of time for a new player to spend farming for a cruiser? Neverminding, for the moment, that it sounds like you won’t be able to actually fly it or maybe even sit in it even if you could afford it.
Depends.
Hopefully they’re a bit faster at learning to navigate the game than you, or less likely to complain and blame the game for their own shortcomings.
In those cases they might even like the game!
Most players actually do pretty well and understand that it takes effort to get stuff.
Various Tech 1 Frigates and a Tech 1 Destroyer are given to players for completing the Career Agent missions which are designed to be easily done by brand new players on Day 1…
Not sure, but definitely should not be 10+ hours of doing the best pve you have access to in high sec to afford a Cruiser using a Destroyer. Maybe like 3-4 hours of gaming non-stop. Thats a long time to game without stopping, doing the same thing over and over. Then again, i am not a person that studies time or anything.
And the content you do in high sec with that Cruiser should also make enough money to pay itself off in 2-3 hours.
Again, rough time idea, i am not a person that studies or treats time.
Yes, i shall not blame the game.
Cruisers are 15 mil? Its my fault! I did it! Me me me!
Not 2-3 hours to pay off a cruiser doing cruiser level content, likely less
First thing youve said in this entire troll thread that has actually made any sense.
Most players can pay off a cruiser hull in less than 20 minutes, and an hour for the whole fit, with a cruiser. With a destroyer or frigate, hull easily in less than an hour and fit in 2-3 hours.
Though in my corp, we tend to just hand the new player a ship and if needed, a small skill injector and take them with us to do group content.
This seems to be your main problem. And the solution to this is manual piloting. If you have to get that close to the structure to get within range of the NPCs, then spatial awareness and manual piloting is the only way to do it there.
I highly doubt that.

It is currently 23:41 Eve time and this character was rolled at 22:16. If I did the same thing again, it would take me less than an hour.
Haven’t even assigned his referral sp yet.
And what did you do to make that money? i am specifically talking about high-sec pve. not faction warfare. not gas mining. not exploration.
I did career agent missions and sold the event tokens. EZ.
The career agent income alone, btw, was about 5 million, plenty to put together an abyssal kestrel.
I do think it’s hilarious that this entire problem requires that everything be done while standing on one leg with an arm tied behind your back.
You’re pretty obviously not clever enough to be imposing artificial challenges on yourself.
Thats why i am posting here on the forum. To give devs feedback so they can change their game so pve is actually a valid option to make money and progress, instead of having to rely on donations, default to faction warfare, gas mining, or null sec exploration, or give up and grind hideaways and refuges for multiple days.
