New Cargo Hold Idea

I will be using the Outrider as the model. At the aft of the Outrider is a large, cargo hold looking section. When the cargo hold is full, the Capsuleer has the option to dock and empty or jettison the cargo hold. When the cargo hold jettisons, another ship, the cargo hold tug would deploy drones capture the cargo hold, place the cargo hold in a new type of Orca designed to attach the cargo hold to its hull. The cargo hold drones, operated by AI, would then remove a new cargo hold from the Orca, place the cargo hold near the aft of the Outrider. The Outrider would then tractor the cargo hold into place so that mining could resume.

There would be obvious advantages and disadvantages but the overall goal is to develop an AI system around moving and stacking.

The better the AI programming that is skilled up the faster the extraction and replacement of the cargo hold.

There would also be the possibility of AI simply traveling off into space due to faulty AI programming.

The one thing this game needs less of is automation….

The character in the unplayed video? His name is what this idea makes me want to do.

The idea is a good idea as it will require more fleet members to perform.
The more Omega accounts, the better.

The Pioneer would be a good model to use for the Cargo Hold Tub.

A player can already jettison the contents of their ore hold after which another pilot picks it up in a hauler or Orca.

Why not use that?

Because jet can mining is too easy and too fast. Mining needs slowed down and needs to be riskier.

Mining does not need to be slowed down

Mining needs to have more risk. Simply being able to mine then drop a can and scoop really isn’t taking any risk in High Sec.

Aren’t you the one always advocating for the elimination of ganking?

Gankers are the only real risk miners have, in all regions of space, and holy f*ck, do they cry about that risk.
