News: Pandemic Horde leaving PANFAM

For those not following null sec politics or EVE reddit, it appears the largest alliance of one of the largest null sec coalitions leaves to be ‘independent’ with the help of the Initiative, another of the largest null sec coalitions.

What this means for the future of the PanFam coalition (and it’s name) now that in recent time both Pandemic Legion and now Pandemic Horde leave their coalition is unknown, but it appears one of the four largest coalitions in the game is collapsing.

In the near future I expect fights over the space that’s being left behind, and fuel shortages as horde members move all their capitals to a new destination across the universe with Initiative’s help.

I find it a bit ironic that Horde now says to value independent smaller groups outside coalitions after they conspired with Winterco to form a much larger force to push the then independent Brave into a coalition two years ago.

The big groups are scrambling to make content for their members. INIT resets standings, Goons relocate, PH leaves their alliance—all because players aren’t logging in. Without their members, they have little left, and they can’t rely on CCP for content. Thanks for sharing.

Well this event is creating a fair bit of null sec content.

Burning structures that are getting left behind, for one:

Current status of horde’s B E A N S T A R in R-AG7W, bubble wrapped:

Eh, more like Panfam’s leadership failed their members. Most of us watching noted that they were taking down structures for weeks now. Panfam being caught off-guard and evac-ing much like Test/papi did at the end of WWB2 was very much expected, despite people warning them on Reddit. Instead they just parroted false narratives and are now dealing with Imperium blockades.

They were the largest, but refused to fight over “floodplains”, they started bleeding members, corps, and alliances. The content was there, but Horde refused to play, Horde could have fought in their stronger time zone, but instead blamed Goons for setting timers to when Goons were strongest.

The resets happened almost a year ago, it’s not recent. Frat and Init are fighting, the numbers are not equal there, but the fights are happening. Horde leadership just didn’t want to do the most basic thing they were put there to do. I hope Horde learns from this and actually trim the fat and learn to fight, but as it stands, they are just a bunch of carebears.

Frankly i dont log in because theres no content other than trying to find some content………cant go to LS because losers camp gates looking for content, wont join NS alliance because the last time i did i got so much spam mail i had to spend almost a year blocking foreign email spammers

for some reason these new updates that hit 1 gb at a time have somehow stopped me from using the total 4 characters i have at the same time…..so no mining anymore.

i had hoped never to meet Amatin as i just relocated………..yet there he was with 5/6 characters with his grimy name on them 9 jumps from Jita on the border with LS……sucking up all the Content just like the losers i left amarr space to get away from.

CCP. needs to address the elephant in the room, Idiots who Farm all the content.

because spending 100$ per month for no content is getting real stale real quick.

Why don’t you two just get a room?

With this much gushing over Gerard in your various posts going weeks back, I think that’s the proper way to get it out of your system.

There is no nullsec alliance I currently have respect for. Things need to be shaken up over there. So, I see it as a good thing if some of the long-standing coalitions are breaking apart.

For your information, EVE has a few common surnames. ‘Amatin’ is a common Gallente surname in EVE. EVE is full of them!

None, besides Gerard, are me.

Is this where your seemingly unfounded hatred for me started? That another Amatin wronged you and that you thought we were the same person?

I definitely like a null sec shake up every now and then! I was just expecting more of a fight in this case.

A coalition isn’t as important in EVE. What really matters is the alliance, and even more importantly, the corporation.

I see EVE’s history in three eras:

First Era.
Gen-X was the core player base from 2001 until around 2008–2010. This includes all the classic stories about BoB, MC, Red Alliance, Razor, and many others. Until a big reset.

Second Era.
Millennials became the core player base between 2008 and 2020. This era covers the major conflicts involving Goonswarm, NC., TEST, Initiative, Providence, PH, etc. The period from 2015 to 2020 was probably the peak of null-sec warfare — constant large-scale fights, real strategic depth, and nonstop action. Anyone who played at a high level during that time was lucky. The last major war in Delve felt like the conclusion of an entire decade. The main players involved seemed determined to burn down everything they had collected before stepping back. But the server itself will not allow that to happen.

Third Era.
Now Gen-Z is becoming the dominant player base, and the game is transitioning into a new decade. What to expect from Gen-Z? I can only imagine — probably a lot of “woke” elements, but we’ll see how it plays out.

Just imagine: this game is 25 years old. For an MMO, that’s practically a full lifetime. Recently I visited the Molea Memorial again, and it was genuinely impressive.

Since the final Delve war in 2020, null-sec warfare has been a “shitshow“ on multiple levels. How it will be fixed, I honestly have no idea.

This is the shortest video that sums it all up:

OK I’m out of the loop… I thought Pandemic Horde was Blue to Pandemic Legion and PH was founded by PL so once PL left, wouldn’t it be inevitable Horde would leave too? Also when did they conspire to push Brave into a coalition?

Founding of Pandemic Horde and Pandemic Legion was before my time, but from what I heard Pandemic Legion created Pandemic Horde to make use of the new success formula of inviting many newbies to a null sec alliance to have a force rather than requiring high SP from new members. They both formed ‘PanFam’ for many years, with a few other alliances as well.

Pandemic Legion leaving this coalition was pretty surprising as onlooker, given their old relation to Pandemic Horde, but in hindsight they might have known a bit about what Pandemic Horde was planning.

I didn’t see how PL leaving made it inevitable PH would leave too. Especially surprising was it to see that PH went a different direction than PL, where PL left for WinterCo and PH sought help with the Initiative who were at war with WinterCo.

Also when did they conspire to push Brave into a coalition?

Not that relevant to the whole ‘PanFam dissolving’ story, but as a Brave member myself I remember we tried to be ‘independent’ back in 2021 after WWB2 where everyone together fought against the Imperium. Brave set everyone to neutral and took space for ourselves in Pure Blind, until Fraternity/WinterCo wanted to invade our neighbours and Brave stood up against them. A small independent alliance against a major bloc. And the major bloc called the help of another bloc, PanFam to fight Brave and allies (B2) because they cannot handle B2 on their own. By doing so WinterCo and PanFam forced B2 into a corner to call the help of the Imperium and kept pushing until eventually B2 dissolved and joined the Imperium.

I don’t dislike my Imperium allies but found the game more fun when my neighbours weren’t all blue.

With that history in mind I found it ironic that this same Horde now says to value independent smaller groups.

The situation that unfolded in null-sec was definitely one of the more dramatic political shifts we’ve seen in a while. With Pandemic Horde stepping away from the broader PanFam umbrella—and following earlier moves by Pandemic Legion—it’s understandable that people are questioning what the coalition’s future shape will look like. Add in the involvement of The Initiative. facilitating their transition, and the whole picture starts to look like the opening chapter of a much larger reshuffling.

What comes next is anyone’s guess, but it’s hard not to anticipate a wave of opportunistic conflicts across the regions Horde is leaving behind. Space rarely stays unclaimed for long in New Eden, and with so many capitals relocating at once, logistics and fuel constraints are bound to create some turbulence. Whether this shift leads to a genuine fragmentation of one of the game’s largest blocs or simply a rebranding and re-aligning of interests remains to be seen.

There’s also a certain poetic irony in the narrative. Seeing Horde now champion the idea of independent, smaller groups—after working alongside WinterCo to pressure the then-independent Brave into joining a coalition a couple of years back—makes the timing feel almost cyclical. New Eden has always thrived on shifting allegiances, but the echoes of past actions make this particular moment stand out more sharply.

In the end, though, this is classic EVE: politics evolving, alliances reshaping, and the map being redrawn not through patches, but through player ambition. Whatever happens next, it’s going to give us plenty to watch—and probably even more to fight over.

A bit strange to ask that here, but I do believe the Imperium has left some freeport Keepstars in the area for new locals to stage from. A bit like NPC stations in the region, but player-made. These could be your way out.

I hope you didn’t have your dread exactly in the system you mentioned, but I do believe it’s in range from ALC-JM in Ethereum Reach where I suspect one of the Keepstars is. See Edit.

If you’ve got a second account that can light a cyno, I’d fly there, see if you have access and jump and dock the dread so you can sell it. And perhaps remove the system name from your post.

Good luck!

Edit: Nevermind, ALC isn’t on the list but this reddit thread mentions a few others. See if they’re in range: https://old.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/1oz5whq/drone_regions_be_our_guest/ and verify you have access before you jump!

Thank you I’ll look for those stations to cyno in and dock up. Is there anyway to figure out what’s the closest to MJ-5 with max cyno skills err max jump skills send me a ingame mail and I’ll gladly pay u 1 bil for your help thank you @Gerard_Amatin.

I’m sure all I’ll do is dock up and put it on contract for half the price anyways

This is why I don’t bother going into mega corps or null space, instability, and politics.

Thanks for filling me in.

Well, I promised to defeat Panfam, and I did.

I was there as well, not in Brave, but on the same side. A lot of my alliance members ended up joining the Goons, and that just wasn’t something I was ever going to do. So, I took a hiatus from null, until TEST got its ■■■■ back togther or another similar group would emerge from somewhere. Still waiting.
