Not issue : What hardware would make my game better?

Ok I asked them to swap the PSU and GPU, hopefully order is not out yet. I can however return it and swap, not an issue. I also asked for the the cable.

Fingers crossed! will share photos!

All parts are here! Swapped the PSU but decided to keep the GPU. Ordered the additional cable you recommended.

I have started mounting. Wish me luck

I think you might have been wrongs about needed the adapter. It look like the front panel had one USB3 that I plugged into the only port that it fits in on the board. JUSB3. Can you confirm this is ok ? I can then return the adapter.

thanks

Yeah, it looks like USB 3 supports up to 2 full speed ports per header. So, that one cable running to the front panel undoubtedly drives both ports. So yes, you can return it. Learn something new everyday.

Great! Thanks for the confirmation

Itā€™s all mounted now. Gotta say ā€¦ I am a bit nervous about starting. Will plan this some time in the day. Fingers Crossed. Thanks for all your help so far

The suspense is killing meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I would honestly forget about running multiple graphics cards. Itā€™s just not worth it anymore. Most games arenā€™t build to be able to take advantage of it anyway and for example the Nvidia graphics cards donā€™t have the connectors for multi-gpu until RTX 2080.

Itā€™s alive! Looks like everything is running smoothly.

Windows installed. Drivers comes next, then EVE!!! cant wait to see the graphics ā€¦ how my ships and the game will look like.

Some tips

  • Checked out online Videos for mounting, helped a lot
-M2 was not easy for a first timer, but videos helped
-The CPU came with Thermal paste pre-applied, no need to add extra
-Read all the manualsā€¦ it was very helpful, especailly the case one related to what to mount and when

thanks! and will share more updates and photos if you are interested ā€¦

One more update

Windows 10 Pro installed and licenced. I bought a key from Kingquin. The site is not great (too many popups and colors and animation) but for about 30ish Euros I got a licence key that didnā€™t work at first. I followed the instructions, windows just wouldnā€™t take it. I called Microsoft, they said that the key is valid for Windows Home, I ensured them it is pro. It felt like they were throwing me off for some reason. Then he did an another verification and he said that the key is valid for pro. Apparently, the issue was that I installed Win 10 Pro N (which is a slightly different version without media players and additional software) and the licence key didnā€™t like it.

I re-installed Win 10 Pro (not N), used the key DURING the installation process, rather then skipping and putting it in later. Once Installation was complete, I logged in and tried phone activation. Put a series of horrendously long numeric codes punched on my phone keyboardā€¦ Fail. Got transferred to a Microsoft Employee. Which I would say was very friendly and helped give me the activation code. Put it in and BAM : Works!

This was around Midnight last night.

This morning we install EVE and Play

Thank a million again for all the support. I hope the Windows activation tips I gave help someone else.
