Plex are too expensive threads existed since… ever.
and probably they will exist in some years too.
Before plex, it was GTC price complaint.
Paid expansions are mostly ruled out by the single shard server. Also, since expansiosn nowadays consist largely of restats and shiney, ti’s difficult to place a pay barrier between people and content. Let alone imagine the potential chaos if CCP (not your average developer, but !!CCP!!) had to work on and update 2 different versions of the live client (or 3, or 4…).
So no dev response yet in any of the threads abouts being actively done to fix the market and lower the price of Plex.
How very disappointing. CCP hiding
There’s nothing to fix and devs don’t report to us.
They need to fix or roll back the change from single to granular Plex.
They made a mistake they need to rectify.
I’m sorry but for 4 years, plex was not eves style and for 12 years skill injectors was not eve’s style.
If they put up EXPANSIONS, and not just simple CONTENT updates then they could charge for expansions and people would be ok with it.
Most content updates are just small updates several times a year to keep the game alive, and to follow their goals for the game.
Expansions, are massive updates that can take a year, or two years to accomplish and usually holds 20% - 30% more content.
Problem with expansions used to be how to separate expansion content from those who haven’t purchased the expansion, and the answer CCP if you’re listening is… The Alpha/Omega model system, have new ships come in packs, and let people buy expansions for their favorite races, you could do things like new capitals for blood raiders, and amarr in the “Vengeance” bundle, or the first SoE Dreadnaught plus new t3 explorer ships in the “Valor” expansion pack.
They need to start doing ■■■■ like this, leave skins to $$ link the account in game with your on file credit card and just switch it all to $$$ leave the players to determine the isk value, not the company, that ■■■■ really pisses us off btw.
That’s an opinion and you’re certainly entitled to it.
Doesn’t mean CCP have to agree, nor other players.
And they tie a lot of available devs for a long time, it costs them a lot, and then there is risk that only few people will buy it, because they have enough of the same thing in a different form already. And If they will add new premium expansion ships, better stats (like next tier tank and dps), and ever growing paywall in PvP game, they will suddenly find themselves with less and less people playing that dont want to be prey for those PvP whales. The “EVE is Pay to Win” will then ring true.
This one wouldn’t be too hard to solve.
(Almost) Immediate payout for shooting pirates in some remote locations doesn’t make sense anyway and other high paying PVE activities also have some component of indirect payment (Incursions and Missions → LP, Worm Sites → salvage and blue loot)
Remove (or severely reduce) the direct bounty payout.
Make rats drop tags and make those exchangeable for Isk and LP in empire high sec.
Additional (less serious bittervet) suggestions (all inspired by actual in-game content):
- Put the majority of the site reward in some extra hard “boss opponent” at the end of the site. If not scrammed with at least six points, this opponent warps away and starts terrorizing the system. Super opponents like to travel in packs and camp gates.
- Make each capital that warps into the site spawn extra opponents with low reward and high fire power and hit points.
- add extra strong webbing frigs to anomalies (with at least 40 km reach), maybe add also some more scram frigs and make sure they trigger the next wave
- give NPCs a chance to light a cyno and call for reinfocements - e.g. four or five dreads or even better: a super battleship with a doomsday weapon
Back to more serious posting:
Currently, it’s still quite hard to get a profit out of those as the market hasn’t fully recovered yet from ghost training.
However, as I also wrote in one of the other Plex threads, skill extraction is the way to ease up on Plex expenses. Extract some SP and put them on the market at the end of each month. You can basically keep up your Omega status forever without any relevant cost (besides some time for extraction and market stuff).
No. I am paying for a service that includes, among other more obvious stuff, also new content. Extra charge for “Expansions” → cut the service fee or players will leave.
This will drive players away and keep even more from joining than the ■■■■ CCP is already trying to pull off.
You do realize that the majority of skins from the NES is and was always bought through isk and not real money? If this way is elimininated, the number of skin sales will drop dramatically.
Your ideas of cash grabbing are really, really bad. Throwing a bomb in the server room will give Eve a longer life span than implementing this ■■■■. Stuff like this is only ever tolerable in games that are otherwise free to play (and I don’t talk about the Eve variant) or when it comes to almost exclusively cosmetic stuff or when you are able to get all content through a non monetized in-game way also.
If you guys want changes to be made, the propose ideas that do not affect PLEX sales or how desirable PLEX is (because of what it’s used for). Because you can post all you want, burn Jita all you want, they will NOT do anything that reduces their profits from PLEX.
The issue is the exchange rate between the ISK currency and the PLEX currency. CCP will never change anything about the PLEX currency or what it can be used for. Therefore, make suggestions about the ISK currency.
Except, you know, when they did.
And this will stop the PLEX being expensive how exactly? You’ll just add more ‘limited’ and thus expensive items…
No, they added their 2nd virtual money into the original plex. Now they had to either make a pair of shoes cost over 20 million ISK or make PLEX scaleable. That had zero to do with player ideas. Only to do with CCP internal quest to make profit from the players that want everything for free except for the things they don’t use. Why not make High Sec Free and let people pay $20/month for low sec and null sec ?
No, she’s right, they did make changes to PLEX or what it’s used for. But always to make it more desirable / usable for more things / easier to sell. Which resulted in the current slew of threads that the ISK <-> PLEX ratio is too high. Unfortunately, all the previous changes were deliberate, and resulted in more profit / more sales for them, so I think they’ll continue the trend and certainly not reverse it.
@Memphis_Baas I just hope there aren’t gonna be any “plex fueled” guns or “warp 20% faster with PLEX!” deals.
Well sure they rolled Aurum into PLEX but I suspect the cosmetic market has been statistical noise compared to skill trading and Omega time. In other words, yeah you can use PLEX to buy SKINs (at lol-worthy prices) but I strongly doubt it has had any significant impact on PLEX consumption.
There aren’t that many skins on market to begin with. So, I believe the impact is minimal.
I have two skins and they were purchased via ISK. I did a simple math and buying via ISK was cheaper.
