I Think ‘I Will End Your Whole’ is mad because the locals are successfully resisting them with much fewer numbers. You should see the rage in local. While I haven’t been involved in the fighting I have definitely sat in station with popcorn and watched the tears flow.

Solitude ranked fairly high for such a small region in destruction figures on the most recently MER. No pvp happens here indeed >.>
For the record the gate to solitude will still involve 6 jumps through lowsec.
That said, the Convocation of Empyreans and Aideron Robotics will ensure that the gate is constructed as the President wishes. We feel it is important for us to reward this effort to work with the Empyreans to build a better cluster, and none of this would be possible without her election to the Presidency last year.
This should not interfere with those who live in solitude, as it will still be an island, however it is important to the peoples of the Federation and so encourage and welcome all willing to assist in its construction.

Yeah, honestly, IDK if saying this excommunicates me as a resident of Solitude or whatever, but I really don’t think this will have the disasterous effect that some think it’ll make. Vevelonel, a pipeline system that connects Mobrault to the rest of Solitude is pretty regularly camped by a pirate corp even without the gate being up, so it’s not like the journey to Solitude proper will be any less treacherous.
There’s the central Placid hisec island too if people want an idea of what could happen to hisec Mobrault, which I don’t believe is really that populated besides alliances like the UNF. Sure, there might be some more people coming to the region, but it’s not like it’ll be an utterly huge deluge of people. There’s a lot of people in the game that’ll likely not even want to set foot in a single lowsec system, let alone six plus however many it’d take to get to the main hisec bits of Solitude.
That being said, I’ll probably remain neutral out of the OOC concerns Solitude residents have. That, and I got myself a navy geddon recently that I want to shoot Blooders with. I anticipate that there will also be folks from NADSC and other Gallente RP corps that’ll be helping to get it built too.
As I’ve told you already elsewhere the current lowsec route with the least jumps is 10-12. This is a reduction by 50%.
I appreciate the RP side of things, but you don’t live out here, and you don’t know whether it will or will not hurt our community. Don’t presume to lecture us about what is ‘good’ for our community, you have no stake in the issue or knowledge of the community what-so-ever.
I’ve been predicting that if this event happens, even if it can be stopped, we wont be able to stop it so at this point you’re just kicking us when we’re down. Do what you’re going to do.
Not at all, diversity of opinion is good. I will say that I’ve spoke to a few dozen people about it from the region and you’re one of the very small few who doesn’t think it’s entirely bad. Still, respect for your work in the OP.

Convocation of Empyreans has 1400+ members according to zkill, so even if every single full time local in Solitude banded together, without outside assistance we have yet another foregone conclusion. I’ve been putting out a few discrete feelers to outside entities for assistance, but without knowing the shape of the event to come, I’m not hopeful.
