Proposal: Revamped Site Mechanics to Reduce Multiboxing and Promote Cooperation

Then he’s making it in the wrong place. The Forum is a generally available resource, open to comment from all players with an active account.

If he wishes to draw the attention of CCP, he might at least post in ‘Player Features & Ideas’, or directly engage our CSM.

In the first instance, his ideas will still have to run the gauntlet of scrutiny from established players, and this could prove useful in identifying oversights in his original thinking.

In the second, the CSM is composed of players who, between them, have vast experience of the game and would be able to help identify and advise upon the merits (or otherwise) of the proposal/s.

This is a Forum, not a soap-box.

This sounds like a new “captcha” exploration site - unless I interpreted the proposal wrong. Where do these new sites appear?

Captchas aren’t “engaging content,” they are annoying and tedious and inaccessible to people with neurological issues that make certain kinds of puzzles difficult to complete. Nothing has ever been improved by making it more tedious to do.

He’s making it on a public forum where I have every right to comment and express my disapproval without some arrogant person thinking their opinion trumps all.

I’m pretty sure Steve Erwin would have told you that live and wriggling Australian bush grub served up with toasted tarantula was fantastic. Bon appetite !

You have no rights here but the ones I allow you to have.

Woulda shoulda coulda

I’m pretty sure when you say:

It means you stop responding every time they post.

He hasn’t trained Logic skill to V yet.

Uh uh…yet another arrogant person. I guess it goes hand in hand with being a forum troll. I decide what I say means…not you. And it is entirely possible to put someone on ignore and ignore the vast majority of their junk whilst selecting one or two to respond to. That’s up to me…not you. So with all due respect…take a hike.

Sorry. I was just following basic English language rules. My apologies for being confused by your lack of understanding how to convey thoughts and ideas in common English.

I will say you do quite well conversing in it as your second language though.

But nothing like as well as you speak Troll.

Hey…any chance of you ever undocking or even logging in ? I mean…I’d hate to think people would get the misguided view that you don’t even play Eve anyway.

You’ve let everyone know that you don’t like his proposal, more than a few times. Continuing to post in a thread after you’ve already made clear your position makes you the troll, not us… We’re here to support OP against trolls like you, that’s why we’re still posting. It’s a dirty job but somebody’s got to do it.

Oh…is that why you gave my response nothing but ad hominem 7 times in a row in which you never once addressed the actual topic ? I gave the topic a detailed response. ALL you gave was silly insults.

If you could read properly I explained to you why I didn’t address the topic.
Here goes again, because I’m nice like that: I’m not addressing the topic because OP already addressed everything that needed to be addressed. His OP is complete, nothing to add but agree.

Because that’s what your response deserved.

Then all you had to do was agree…rather than endless ad hominem on anyone who disagrees. I have a proposal that CCP should create a kindergarten forum for those who have not yet acquired the skills to debate with adults.

It must be killing you to be on Gloria’s ignore list.

Wrong. I’m here to defend OP against trolls like you.

Great, good idea. Start the thread without delay.

But which circle? (I’m thinking 10)

The one where there’s the most weeping and gnashing of teeth.
I thought Gloria and I had something going on. She was charming and engaging and was always the first one to like my posts.
But then I found out she multiboxed. It was like a knife through my heart. How could she cheat on me like that, how could she give her attention to another?
Then I remembered my father’s words:
For no one – no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts…
This you can trust

Wanting something engaging and being able to code something and design it that it wouldnt just be added tedium is another thing Ive found in Eve. To that end I thing almost any changes will effectively shift goal posts, I mean thats literally what CCP does when it “encourages” meta changes through rebalancing. Eventually a new meta or FOTM develops until you reach saturation and then it needs to be changed again, I guess the question is how long until such a saturation occurs with any specific change occurs. Using AI changes without any other way to discern but by observation “in” the moment would allow periodic updates to cancel out or induce new metas as time goes by with minimal interference unlike puzzles or mini games. Mini games and puzzles would be harder to design and polish and might get stale faster for capsuleers as well. Like the Park Ranger adage: designing an effective garbage can is hard because there is a considerable overlap between the smartest bears and the dumbest humans. The other aspect I see to the mini game/puzzle solution is how much of the screen is used and how much attention is taken away from situational awareness? Again there will be considerable overlap.

Im uncertain how far CCP has come in regard to AI and if they have adaptation and learning capabilities. But with adjusting various % spawn rates itd be easier to nudge things in other directions than a hard coded game or puzzle would be to change. Sliders are easier to tweak over time than actual coding.

Yes having effective choices in what content to develop and use by keeping sites active is another aspect that can be tweaked simply through using % based spawn sliders. The more of X that is run the greater, or lesser, of that site spawns in the future over a given time frame. Adding into that a decay feature would be handy as well so it always naturally resets over time to a base level due to player activity or involvement.

Overall I feel that sliders are just functionally easier to control, code and manipulate than any hard wired added content. But thats just me.
