FYI, having trouble merging the new systems and new gates into Pathfinder. Still working on solutions, but in the event it can’t be completed soon I will have no choice but to look at retiring all Pathfinder hosting. Public and private.
If it comes to that, some other projects that have been in development will see stepped up efforts in order to offset the impact.
Well, it’s happening. Project to replace Pathfinder is nearing completion.
Recommend that anyone still using this public Pathfinder be prepared to export your map for import into the upcoming new system.
How do you do that exactly? When looking at your map, do the following:
Click Map in the upper-right corner
Click Settings
Click Import/Export in the top row
Update the name in the Export section if you like, then click Export.
These JSON files will import directly into the new mapper.

Public Pathfinder is shutting down 2026/09/13. Everyone needs to export their maps for import into another Pathfinder instance, or preferably into my new mapper.
Say hello to Wayfinder
Ever since I rebuilt part of Pathfinder to run on a multi-server backend, I kept thinking there had to be a better way to do this. Running into the problem of importing the new gates and systems forced me to act.
I’ll get into more details in a future, dedicated thread on Wayfinder. But the important thing for now is that Wayfinder can import backups from Pathfinder, the design was largely inspired by Pathfinder, and from the backend it operates like I wished I could have done to Pathfinder.

I did the JSON export of a map from Pathfinder and brought it into Wayfinder to play around. I know you said you would do a dedicated thread but something that I immediately could not figure out was I cannot seem to tag K162 wormholes. The options for type are all wandering (M555, etc), and I cannot type “K162” into the text field, it shows “unknown” with the drop down list of the wandering types.
Maybe I missed something but this is kind of a showstopper for me if I have to jump every K162 to be able to input the wandering type that’s on the other side. Most WHers can ID a K162 class visually and not need to jump it.
Wayfinder is crazy-responsive and the UI is really nice compared to Pathfinder!
So you’re not seeing a section like this in the dropdown?
