Question about capital staging

I returned to EVE after a few weeks’ break and received a Capital Staging escalation while running Havens. I attempted to run it the next day, but when I tried to jump to the site, I received the following message:

“Path Stale: So much time has passed since this lead was given, that it is no longer accurate enough to be followed. You should delete it.”

I’m confused about what this means. If the escalation has already expired, why does it show that it will expire in more than a day? Any insights would be appreciated.

Just for the record, recently it has been upped to 72 hours:

• Capital focused escalations (Shielded/Infested Starbase and the Capital Staging/Hive sites)

  • Escalation Expiration timer from 24 hours to 72 hours.

You could just update it as the second part was still useful, stating that the reason for the message was that the escalation has expired. (Yes now added it here as I don’t think you can cancel the deletion, not sure though.)
