6-10 frigates, alot of them being destroyers or 25k bounty npcs. with 50% resists everywhere, still too much dps for my small armor repairer to repair. Cant focus just two damage types to resist against since i would constantly have to change my ships fitting for each different mission.
Even with 900 m/s speed with afterburner, still dieing. Plus i keep hitting structures and getting speed reduced to zero.
Try upgrading to either an assault frigate or a cruiser. L2’s are more suited for cruisers, and majority of damage being done is EM so you shouldnt need to switch out fittings.
Youre trying to advance too quickly. Go back and spam lvl 1’s a bit more until you can move up to a cruiser like Geo suggested. Use eve workbench to find a fit that your skills allow.
A cruiser, as others are suggesting, is not a good ship for Blockade Level 2. Sure, it can tank and can destroy the NPCs easily, but it’s painfully slow. The rats are spread tens of kilometers apart and it would take a cruiser a long time to finish it. Plus, training a cruiser requires time.
Level 2 missions are routinely done in a destroyer with just basic skills.
I tried edit: killing cruisers only and quickly became overrun by frigates and destroyers.
But to be honest, combat anomalies might be better. The pirates in the area only do a certain damage type, so you dont have to constantly switch out your resistance modules. And recently i got a 100 mil implant, 200 mil module from combat anomaly faction spawn, and 200 mil from DED 3 which was a escalation from combat anomaly.
edit: all from high sec. and sold to jitarun, so didnt have to haul or sell myself
You will generally want to kill the small enemies first actually. They’re the ones with better application (the larger a ship is, the harder it is for it to do its full damage against a smaller ship), and generally the ones with dangerous abilities like web and point. A frigate orbiting an NPC cruiser will take next to no damage because the cruiser just doesn’t have the tracking to reliably hit it, but if the NPC cruiser is accompanied by NPC frigates, those will be able to hit you, and they may web you to let the cruiser hit you too. Meanwhile the cruiser has a lot of hp and will take a while to die, keeping you exposed and taking damage all the longer. In terms from other MMOs, the cruiser is a tank and the frigates are DPS.
I do Level 2 missions in a frigate all the time and have never had any issue. You can do most level 2 missions in a corvette. So making them even easier is kind of absurd. I have never struggled with The Blockade L2 in a frigate. Sounds like a skill issue.
so people that do not have all skills on lvl 5 like you just have to get gud? How if they get killed in a lvl 2 mision and cannot progress? Just do nothing ingame for 6 months until the skills are ready? You talk like someone who forgot how HARD this game can be for a beginner…
