Regarding the Drifter Summit

I think your view point shows a certain and great particular animus against the State.

That being your sole metric for discounting the views of a State aligned capsuleer is very… telling.

I have my own views on technological sharing broadly, ask anyone and they’ll say that usually I’m quite in favor of technological dissemination… outside of the hands and control of CONCORD and Directive Alpha Gamma 12 particularly, but for this…

Open Tech Sharing for Drifter Technologies would be… a touch brash and irresponsible.

Opening the technology gathered from the Drifters to all is a plan that is doomed to failure. Piratical and Heretical elements would get their hands on technology that would be used to further disrupt what little peace there is left between the Empires. Undoubtedly these actors of bad faith will, in the fullness of time, get their hands on it regardless, but the longer we can keep it out of their reach the better.

And would your view be reversed, Elsebeth, if the Empire failed to get one of these hives? I certainly think that you would.

Keeping the technology gathered from the Drifters closed to all is a plan that is doomed to failure. Piratical and Heretical elements have already gotten their their hands on this technology that will be used to further disrupt what little peace there is left between the Empires. Undoubtedly other actors of bad faith will, in the fullness of time, get their hands on it regardless, and then the empires will not be able to properly defend themselves because of the fear of taking steps of understanding these technologies together in an open manner.

I would ask you why you keep insisting that this technology is already in the hands of outlaws, but seeing as you also seem to think that the State is ‘in league’ with capsuleer pirates ‘occupying’ Uedama, I have to assume your connection with reality is tenuous at best.

As outlined in my original post, it was through the admirable efforts of Imperial scientists and pilots that the Angel Cartel was beaten to the punch and the Vidette hive was secured. Despite the impotent and desperate thrashing of Cartel terrorists, they, and their Deathless peers, were denied access to this treasure trove of tech and information.

At this moment, the 5 hive systems are in good hands. The 3 major CONCORD signatories not currently being headed by an untrustworthy international criminal, a CONCORD agency, and the Triglavian Collective, who, as adversarial as they may have been in the past, are well documented to prioritize their war with the Drifters above all else, with Collective representatives being sighted in all 5 hives rendering material support to fleets dismantling Drifter labyrinth complexes.

The path forwards is through collaboration of those 5 occupying forces. We are the ones capable of piecing together the mysteries of the Drifters’ enigmatic tech, and we are the ones that can be trusted to focus on the task at hand.

Sansha uses their stolen Jovian technology to power their incursions daily into our borders. The Angel Cartel and Gurista Pirates are at this very moment pouring into Verge Vendor and Metropolis, supported by the Deathless using this very technology, discovered in Zarzakh, Jovian and Drifter technologies, that you want to keep to yourself. This is Jovian technology creating wormholes to project force and attack our sovereignty, this is the Drifter technology that they are actively using right now that you want to keep away from those who you don’t deem “worthy”.

You would let the Gallente empire burn, and you would turn a blind eye to the Minmatar struggles just to hold onto your power. You are no better than those you would call terrorists.

Sure?

Not even close.

Are you serious? This is a matter of security, not “worth”.

The Minmatar Republic and their findings from Barbican would be included in the joint research project I am advocating for.
