Quick intro for those who don’t know me: I’m CrazyKinux. Been blogging about EVE since 2008 over at “CrazyKinux’s Musings”. Started the EVE Blog Banter back then — relaunched in 2026 as the New Eden Banter. Co-host The Safe Spot podcast with Rixx Javix.
I came back to EVE at the end of November 2025. Almost fifteen years away.
Yeah. Fifteen. An eternity!
But here’s the thing — I’m not alone. The game is full of returning capsuleers. Two-year breaks. Five-year breaks. Decade-plus breaks like mine. Each with their own version of the same story: a quiet drift, a long absence, then one day — the launcher again.
I want to understand that. Not the marketing-deck version. The real one. Why did you leave? Why did you come back? What surprised you when you logged in? What was better than you remembered — and what was worse?
So I’m running an anonymous Q&A with returning players. Answers get compiled into one big-picture post on the blog. No names attached to specifics, no quotes traced back to you. Just the shape of something larger, told through all of our voices.
If you’ve been gone for two years, five, fifteen, or more — and you’re back now — I’d love to hear from you.

No prizes. No PLEX. No SKINs. No skill points.
Just one returning player asking another the same question: WHY?
