US TZ player here, I’ve been patiently waiting for everyone else to finish the event so i can mine some scordite in gallente high sec. There is still no effing scordite to mine anywhere! The event is almost over, i wanted to participate, and now i probably wont be able to. This seems pretty dumb.
CCP needs to expand the list of possible ores, or temporarily spawn infinite scordite anoms.

I live in Gallente space. I mined Scordite III-Grade just yesterday no problem. Maybe you’re in high-traffic area. Try to find systems that are out of the way from travel routes.
Yes, just move out a bit from the systems that contain the rewards station…..youll find scordite everywhere. Instead of traveling just a few jumps beyond, jump 10 or 12 systems.
Hint: Dodixie is 11 jumps from the system i can find scordite in. 
This 100%… Preferably a deadend system with very little traffic… Can check map stats to find one…
I went to a High Sec Island system in Gallente space that had 21 Asteroid Belts in it… On average Local only had about 1/2 a dozen showing so no problem in completing the Event Mining task… I’d say the only downside was having to travel through a couple of Low Sec systems to get to the High Sec Island… Fortunately for me those Low Sec systems were mostly empty when I traveled through them…
Anyway, I used my Pioneer Consortium Issue ship to do the Event Mining task… I made two different fits for it, one for mining and one for travel.. The mining fit mods were packed inside a small secure container in the cargohold and the travel fit was done for max agility and defense… I also used Quafe Zero Green Apple and Federation Mobility Boosters to help with alignment and speed… And just to be safe, I used my Nomad clone which got a very low sub 2s align time on the ship…
Another option is to run level 2 security missions. The one called Data Mining spawns some 90km^3 of scordite.
I thought missions were changed where you cant mine them anymore
Most missions that contained asteroids lost them a long while ago, yeah. Data Mining is a notable exception.
It’s really baffling to me how CCP seems to not understand their player base.
I’ve watched the YouTube talk with devs about the elections, and they seem surprised that Scordite was missing in belts. I don’t know what else they’ve expected to happen when they put it as an event completion requirement.
The same wrong understanding of the audience is when they added Freelance contracts. The whole feature is just filled with scam spam ranging from “bring me the ore for half the price“ to “come to my lowsec pocket to mine, I’ll be waiting“. Because of the amount of that spam, no one really uses the Freelance contracts. It’s mostly just spam noise that’s ignored, like Jita local.
You wait for naught. There has always been plenty of scordite in gallente space, and this has been mentioned several times on these forums. Mike with the party bus even did a short video explaining it.

I have successfully put hits out on corporations of people I do not like with freelance jobs. They can be used fairly easily as the premier bounty hunter system in New Eden.
Yes, they can be, but given the statistics, they are usually not. Real use is there, but it’s rare compared to the amount of spam.
