Gallente Election - Mining feedback

Since there is no official feedback thread for the Gallente election I am starting one here for mining.

So the scordite thing was funny, however there is no scordite in gallente space. Not even in solitude. If you have the chance to hot fix this, or want to change it for the future, here are my thoughts.
Levels 1 and 2 for mining - Veldspar
Levels 3 and 4 - Scordite
Level 5 - Pyroxeres and Plagioclaise.

So instead of all of the belts being mined out for 1 ore at the end of down time, we now have an even distribution of ore so that way everyone has a chance to mine something.

Or just wait for others to be done with mining and mine later in the month long event.

Just run missions, in the time its going to take you to mine those minerals you would have completed the same number of missions easily

Scordite is gone 2 hours after DT.

Just one problem, do get the 4 tokens, you need to complete 4 different objectives in full.

Not everyone is worried about tokens. Im certainly not.

However, i would understand that some folks are all in and want everything they can get out of it.

Its a huge challenge indeed. Ill reevaluate the scordite deal later in the month and see if that challenge does indeed settle down a bit.

I’ve picked my stuff up in a Damnation. I saw a guy do it in an Orca last night. Gonna need more than a Tornado to take those down.

you can mine minerals in Gallente space???

I guess I was lucky, as my time is usually Euro time. I was able to find enough public fleets doing the event that I was able to complete the mining part of this(in a pioneer, no less)

But the event does state you can either mine Scord in high Sec or Gneiss in other places in Gal space, no? then sounds like you should be trying to mine the Gneiss. OR you can just buy the Tokens off the Market, I dunno. just my $.02 worth.

were you not aware that ore and even modules are rendered down to mineral form?

You can buy those on the market. Mining scordite has to be one of the absolutely worst ways to get stuff.

you hit another point, the mining objective is best suited for EU TZ only. Belts are mined out before US and AU TZ even get food.

my point dunce, is that you can not mine minerals…you can mine ores and ice…you can collect loot…but you CAN NOT acquire minerals directly.

turning anything into minerals takes but 1 click

i think the point is that you have to mine the m3 of the req mats for the event…

you cant buy it to sastify the reqs

So do the campaign trail. Or missions. Or hacking. Or fabricator sites. There are many options which are less miserable than mining.
