Search Box In Location Window can't be disabled?

The new patch added this search box in the location window, so far so good. I don’t really need this, so I tried to disable it, but apparently it’s not possible to do so?

1: Location Window shows the search bar

2: “Show filters” is active

3: disabling “Show filters” removes the search box

Dock/undock, jump a gate, etc.

4: search box is there again, even with “show filters” unchecked

What am I doing wrong? Can the search box be disabled permanently?

Not sure if it can be disabled or not and if not if it is just a bug (that might get fixed in the near or distant future) or a feature™ (that will stay). :psyccp:

But wanted to mention that you’ve censored your bookmarks on your screenshots but kept Tannolen visible?

Sounds like your typical #CCPQualityCoding. Iirc it was already mentioned in the Known Issues or General Feedback topics.

You’re right, this is pretty bad:

That new and useless search bar takes up a huge part of my efficiently small locations window.

I hope this gets fixed soon.

(I’ve sent in a bug report: EBR-42152)

This issue is still present.

It’s still bothering me, CCP please fix this.

I might be mistaken but isn’t there an option on the three-dot menu to disable this?

It’s literally mentioned and shown in the OP:

So it’s working for me and OP, but still a bug for others in the current patch?

It works for him too until:

And also at least one other:

Does it work for you when you jump to another system, dock/undock and so on?

After testing I can confirm that the Search bar in the Locations pop-out window does not reappear when creating a bookmark, jumping through a stargate, docking, or undocking. For me.

lemme log in and check

edit: turned the search bar off, undocked.. docked back up, checked back in the locations window, no search bar.

It stays hidden for me as well now.

Seems like the search box can be disabled. Good.

I still don’t understand though why the search bar can be hidden with a toggle called “show filters”. That’s terribly counterintuitive.

Did they copy this button from another UI element that had filters, or something?

Just call it ‘show/hide search bar’ instead.
